Hey. I'm a very sporty girl. I play soccer, basketball, and a little hockey. 70% of the time you'll find me out on the field messing around with my buds. But, since I'm so active I wear sports bras all the time. In fact, I only have sports bras. Lately my erm... boobs look odd in sports bras, It looks like I have one big one a "uniboob". I really want a real bra, a cupped one. But I'm soooo shy I can never ask my mom to take me to get one. Tips would be lovely yo help this conversation to go smoother. Thanks! 13/F

If your mom doesn't ask you, next time for plan B. Just tell your mom this that your getting sick of sports bras and let her do all the talking and you can say a little. That is what I do. When we go shopping and pas the intimates (bras, underwears) she asks me. When you are, just go take a ponder while you and her are walking. She'll get the sign and hopefully she's buy you some. Mom's do that. TJMAXX and Ross include cheap bras that are a few bucks! Better than paying 20 dollars just for one. [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]

But now, my mom and I are closer then ever
and this subject is no longer a pain for us.
Ask her if you two can go shopping for clothes "and stuff"
When you get to the store (I recommend JCPennys, Kohls, Target, Dillards, Nordstorms etc) If you pass by the bra section I suggest saying something along the lines of "Mom, I was wondering if I could look at getting some new bras." Don't over-think it, just say it, otherwise you make chicken out.
She might be taken back for a sec, but its all good. She should agree and you two can search together.

Don't be shy to ask your mom, she wears bras too =]] Just ask her, nothing bad could happen from it, and you'll get new "regular" bras. [ disasterxwoah's advice column | Ask disasterxwoah A Question ]

And she might say "Yup. It's better to get a real bra."
queenhearts answered Sunday November 12 2006, 2:59 am: You can ask your mom to take you shopping.
You can always say you don't have any real bras
and she would probably get the idea that you want them.
She probably hasn't taken you to the store to buy you some because maybe she's waiting for you to tell her.
