The "Bra" Question *Gasp*

Question Posted Sunday November 12 2006, 1:06 am

Hey. I'm a very sporty girl. I play soccer, basketball, and a little hockey. 70% of the time you'll find me out on the field messing around with my buds. But, since I'm so active I wear sports bras all the time. In fact, I only have sports bras. Lately my erm... boobs look odd in sports bras, It looks like I have one big one a "uniboob". I really want a real bra, a cupped one. But I'm soooo shy I can never ask my mom to take me to get one. Tips would be lovely yo help this conversation to go smoother. Thanks! 13/F

I'm a shy one also and I had never asked my mom if I need some bras. She asks me! If your mom doesn't ask you, next time for plan B. Just tell your mom this that your getting sick of sports bras and let her do all the talking and you can say a little. That is what I do. When we go shopping and pas the intimates (bras, underwears) she asks me. When you are, just go take a ponder while you and her are walking. She'll get the sign and hopefully she's buy you some. Mom's do that. TJMAXX and Ross include cheap bras that are a few bucks! Better than paying 20 dollars just for one.

I had a really hard time with this too;
But now, my mom and I are closer then ever
and this subject is no longer a pain for us.

Ask her if you two can go shopping for clothes "and stuff"
When you get to the store (I recommend JCPennys, Kohls, Target, Dillards, Nordstorms etc) If you pass by the bra section I suggest saying something along the lines of "Mom, I was wondering if I could look at getting some new bras." Don't over-think it, just say it, otherwise you make chicken out.

She might be taken back for a sec, but its all good. She should agree and you two can search together.

Good Luck <3

hey, well if your too shy to involve your mother in this then just go to victorias secret. they will measure you there and tell you what size you need. they will also help you with what kind of bra that you might be interested in.

Ask your mom if she can take you shopping. While shopping just bring it up, "by the way.. can I get a regular bar, so I have some of them and sports bras"

Don't be shy to ask your mom, she wears bras too =]] Just ask her, nothing bad could happen from it, and you'll get new "regular" bras.

"Hi mum! Don't you think sports bra spoils the boobs?"

And she might say "Yup. It's better to get a real bra."

And you say "OK let's go get it!"

You can ask your mom to take you shopping.
You can always say you don't have any real bras
and she would probably get the idea that you want them.

She probably hasn't taken you to the store to buy you some because maybe she's waiting for you to tell her.

You can always go into Victoria's Secret and have someone help you. They would probably measure you and show you where to look for your size.

Go to some type of place in the mall were they have bras. Like, victoria's secret, or JC Penny, and dont be scared to go in VS, all ages of woman go in there...except little kids {lol} any sales rep will help you if you stil are having trouble after these tips. I reread this website about 5 times to make sure its what you needed, so just check it over, and tell me if it helped you :) Good Luck!
