Why are so many teenagers these days (particularly girls) obsessed with losing weight while they are like 100 lb?? Seriously, a girl who is like 12, 5 feet and 2 inches, and then complains she is overweight is actually underweight!
I don't get why girls want to get to be like 75 lb. Does anybody agree with me here?
SoNuLiCiOuSsS answered Saturday November 11 2006, 7:32 pm: The media is protraying that image... which is absolutely ridiculous... but yeah looking like you cant afford food isn't attractive in my opinion. A girl should have some meat on her. Guys seem to like that better too. [ SoNuLiCiOuSsS's advice column | Ask SoNuLiCiOuSsS A Question ]
confused_girl777 answered Saturday November 11 2006, 2:19 pm: I agree. I am 13, 5 foot 2 inches and 95 pounds and I believe im too skinny. Alot of girls I know read those fasion magazines and want to be like the models. Not me, but my best friend is 5 foot 3 inches and is only 105 pounds and says she is a chubby monster. Its just a trend at the moment. [ confused_girl777's advice column | Ask confused_girl777 A Question ]

It really brings down their self esteem because the magazines and everything else tells you to be a certain way or you're not beautiful and of course every girl always wanted to look like the girl in the magazine.
You can't really blame them for wanting something so bad it hurts and they just starve.
I used to be anorexic for 2 years and it was just something i had no control over.
sometimes when they start.

MyHappyShoe answered Friday November 10 2006, 11:27 pm: I totally agree with you. That's what's wrong with society today. Every girl wants to be like Paris Hilton or Lindsy Lohan. I'm 5'5 and weigh 135 and I'm perfectly fine with my not so flat stomach, sure I work out every day but that's not because I think I'm fat. That's how girls should lose weight, not by starving themselves. I know a girl who is 5'3 and weighs 91 lbs and THINKS SHE'S FAT and all she eats is lettuce. Girls just don't understand most guys like curves or a little meat, not stick figures. They just want to be like the anorexic/bulimic/crackhead celebrities. It's not attractive in any sort of way. It makes me sick to see girls KILLING themselves to be a size 0! [ MyHappyShoe's advice column | Ask MyHappyShoe A Question ]
mwalnutss answered Friday November 10 2006, 10:37 pm: i agree with you 120%, because i kinda was oone of those girls. i was anorexic, and still kinda, not really am, i know what its like to want to be sooo much lighter. [ mwalnutss's advice column | Ask mwalnutss A Question ]
taylorbuggg answered Friday November 10 2006, 10:28 pm: ♥i think this is like gross. nobody should do that to themselves and you are absolutely right about that. they would actually look better if they would gain a little weight. a popular girl at my school(she was really pretty) got obessed with her weight. now she's under 100Ibs, her face sunk in and she's not very pretty....not to mention all of her friends have gotten skinnier....so yea, i agree with you, and the people who do that are really bad influences...:) [ taylorbuggg's advice column | Ask taylorbuggg A Question ]
queenhearts answered Friday November 10 2006, 10:23 pm: Because all those tall and super skinny models are like that?
Sometimes the whole '100' number seems scary and "BIG" even though it's not.
duudee_advicer answered Friday November 10 2006, 10:11 pm: Well, I do agree.
I hope this does not come across as rude,
because it is not intended to sound so.
This website is an advice column, not a chat room. I'm getting quite frusturated at the amount of "questions" about people asking stupid, pointless, or inaproprait questions.
missadvicebitch1 answered Friday November 10 2006, 9:56 pm: i agree with you 100%. the reason why most girls do that is because they see all the models in magazines that are stick thin and then they think that they need to have that image.
