im not rich i mean im pretty average-class i guess but i dont have a job yet although i may have one by then.. but i dont want to get it for him if it seems like too big of a deal.. i hope that makes sense!

Yeah, it does seem like a little too fancy and too much of a gift to be giving somebody you've only been dating for 5 months.

Also, if you were to give him an ipod nano and he were to get you something far less cheap, he might feel bad that he didn't give you something as grand.

What most girlfriends and boyfriends do is talk to eachother about the price range they're giving eachother, so nobody gives the other something far more expensive and both gifts are still nice gifts and everything.

I hope I helped.

1-It is a little much for a gift after only 5 months.
2-Ipods really suck. I had the video ipod and I took really good care of it and it didn't even last me a year. There are better MP3 players out there for less.

well ipod nanos range from about $130-$200. & my boyfriend & i have been together for 14 months & we always make sure we both spend no more than $100 just so neither of us will feel bad if one spends more than the other.

i think thats what you guys should do. if he wants to buy you something within those price ranges then maybe its not that bad of a gift, but just 5 months? i mean, couldn't you wait until next year?

this couple i know, the guy bought the girl an ipod nano and then they broke up after like 3 months but they were going out for a long time too so just remember you might regret this. BUTTTT there is a brand new ipod shuffle out that is like a square and its only 80$ it holds 240 songs and battery lasts about 12 hours and its brand new so he could be one of the first to have one! check it out at best buy! :)

If I'm honest, an iPod nano does seem like an awful lot to get a boyfriend of just five months. But then again, it's your relationship and for all I know you could be very much in love. The fact that you are questioning whether it's too much is also a sign that it might be.

Maybe you could talk to him about what you both think is appropriate for presents at that stage in your relationship. Obviously you don't have to tell him what you want to get him, just casually bring the subject up in conversation.

It really depends on how you feel about the relationship... if you think that it's strong then you might consider it. But I think you might want to go a bit lower in the price range.
