Has anyone else besides me noticed that the age of kids starting to have sex is dropping more and more. I mean the other day my friend told me she knew an 11 year old that had sex. I was like whoah thats messed up i'm 15 and i'm still a virgin and proud of it.lol. I mean serisouly what kind of a message is this sending to other countries?
So two questions...
Do you think Americas youth is way too sex oriented? yes or no?
If so what do you think is the cause for this? ex.tv music etc....

Yes. American youth is very sex-oriented. Personally, I believe it's music and movies, as well as Television. I'm sure you've seen movies. Most PG-13 flicks have sexual innuendo in them. Kids, and teenagers, pick those up, start using them around school, and soon, they decide hmm, why not?
Music is a huge part. Candy Shop? We all know that's code for something different. Even songs by Christina Aguilera (Candy Man) are extremely sexual. Britney Spears's songs, Janet Jackson's So Exited, everything.

it's been like this since our parents where young. it has only increased over the years, i'm 17 and i have atlest 10 best friends that just turned 18 or just turning 17 that have had a child. so i would say yes it is to sex oriented. it's all in music it's all over tv. plus girls think they are in love these days when they have sex. i lost it when i was 15 and now when i hear SEX by lyfe jennings i wish i had never lost it and waited. MOST girls that have lost it will tell you not to wait it's not worth the pain and the mess up of your emotions, then the girls that are virgins get soo corious that the go for it.

I've been noticing that too, i mean 14 year ods are asking for sex advice on this website. I mean i think there is something wrong with that. I am 13 years old and i do not see myself having sex anytime soon. i think that it is from music. Especially a lot of those rap songs and stuff like that.

honestly in my opinion, i think it's a lot of boys faults.
guys are hitting puberty & wanting sex, so they ask girls, and these little girls want to be popular & feel loved, so they agree to it.
the reason i think this is because a 6th grader mentioned it to me not too long ago.
i think it's terribly, terribly sad.

I'd say yes, the youth is way too sex oriented.
And i think the cause is MTV, and other t.v. stations of that sort. Sex is always on MTV, and kids watch MTV, so them seeing that, makes them want to be cool, and start doing that stuff, it's to bad that they have no idea what having sex can do to them.

Well being from the UK, obviously I dont know too much about America's sex lives, but if most of the kids asking questions on here are American, then yeah, I'd agree that these kids are way too young.
Here in the UK, though, the age of kids interested in sex is dropping year by year. When I was 13, just holding hands with someone else was a big deal, but now theyre getting pressured into sexual relationships far too early.
So yeah, I guess its the influences from their 'friends' more than anything. And before that, they're influenced by TV, music, basically EVERYTHING in society because EVERYTHING seems to revolve around sex now.
And there's no censorship! I don't know about the USA, but here there's programs on at 9pm with really raunchy scences in, and kids are watching them and wanting to imitate them.
I have no problem if the young person is physically and mentally mature enough to make their own decisions about sex, but when kids want to do it 'because its cool', then I think thats really sad.

Yes, I believe television, music and everything IS the cause for this, but it's not just that. It's people itself. They always hear their older sister or brother or someone talking about it, and think it's the cool thing to do. Also, they think it'll make them seem older. Don't you remember whenever you were a little kid, and you always hated it when you couldn't do this because you were too young, or that because you were too young? Well they might be thinking,"I'm older now. I had sex." If they only realized how much disease they're probably spreading or recieving, and all the other consequences of having sex, and how easily it seems kids don't treat it anymore like it's just some thing they do and they lose their virginity and that's it. It's over. I personally think it's something special between two people who love eachother. I'm 15 and a virgin and proud of it too, and I don't expect to lose mine for a good while.
I've read so many questions on here about girls who are pregnant and they're like, 12, 13, 14. I even read one once about a girl asking us what to do about her 8 year old sister who was having sex. And I'm just like,"Oh, my, god." I was shocked.

Everything around them caused it.
Older teens too. It looks cool when they do it, so it's like.. why not we do it too ? It's like drugs.
But I think sex is too much. It's spreading diseases.. and it's causing young girls to get hurt and having to deal with a child.. ruins their life.. or going through an abortion.
I also think some guys have some influence on it. Girls are getting into relationships at a younger age and they feel like they must keep their boyfriend .. and so giving them blowjobs, sex is what they think they have to do..
I also think it's with the stupid music.
