(I'm 17/f) I've had this huge crush for one of the guys I work with for about a solid year. We would always flirt, but I always thought he was just being his goofy self and didn't know how I really felt. Well about a month ago we finally started hanging out outside of work, and he confessed he'd known how I felt for a long time. We ended up hooking up the day before new years eve, and we've fooled around a lot since then. I'm really happy where we are.
My problem is he wants to keep our fling a complete secret and I'm kind of afraid to ask why. I'm almost positive he likes me too, because he calls me almost every night to talk for like two hours. When we're alone he kisses me softly and holds my hand, all that sweet stuff. But nothing in public or when either of us have friends around. I might be because he's afraid of the age difference (he's 22), but idk. The first night we had sex he told me he "couldn't make any promises" and he made sure I understood, which I said I did.
I'm afraid that if I ask him where he and I are going (IF we're going anywhere), that he'll freak out and stop wanting to fool around altogether. I love being friends with benefits with him, but I want to figure out if there's a chance of a future relationship. How can I ask him without being clingy, desperate, and forward??

To be brutally honest, I don't think there IS a way to ask him where you're going without risking the end of whatever you have. But you have a choice; either ask him and get an answer, so whatever happens at least you'll know, or don't ask, stay in the relationship but always have doubts.
You never know, if you ask he might explain everything and you two could sort things out. In my mind, theres 5 reasons why he could be doing this:
1. You're right, all he wants is friends with benefits (but to be honest, with the way you say he acts aroung you, I doubt it)
2. Like you say, the age thing could be a problem for him. (though I don't know the legal situation in the US, here in the UK sex is fine at 16, so if it IS the age he has a problem with I'm guessing it'd be mainly a 'what-will-my-mates-think' situation rather than a law thing)
3. He might not be over an ex - things with you may SEEM great but he could be hiding feelings for someone else too.
4. He's not ready for anything serious.
5. He feels exactly the same way as you - confused and unsure as to what YOU'RE thinking.
In my opinion its most likely to be the 5th :) I've known guys to put on a front just to stop getting hurt, so the best thing is just ask him straight out.

I kind of teach myself piano, like I don't take lessons. and I get SO confused when there are flats/sharps on the lines. Especially when there are like five. Does anyone know any anagrams, or could send me the link to some pictures of the flats and sharps of treble AND bass clef. (Isn't the treble sharps like, Fat Cows Go Down And Eat Bananas?) Okay mainly I just need help with the bass clef sharps. THANKS SO MUCH!
I've never heard of the "Fat Cows Go Down..." one before but its way funnier than the one I was taught - "Farmer Charles gave Dog An Early Bath"!

I'm not sure that advice is EXACTLY what I'm looking for, but I'd like to understand something. Love seems to have a different impact on everyone who feels it. (This is about romantic love.) Why do you think love is important? What does it do for people? What is the point? Fulfillment? I have heard that no two people can ever fully understand each other, but we all spend years trying to find that one person who can understand us. Why ?

The whole 'I would do anything for you' surely goes against all survival instincts, so love can't be here to keep up alive. The only scientific reason I can think of is to make children and further the human race, using fewer combinations of DNA... :S
But whatever love is here for, its great! It makes people happy, it makes life worth living, and whatever happens you know that theres one person who will always love and respect you. It keeps me going anyway!
And I don't agree that no two people can ever fully understand each other, if you stick together for years and years you must know the other person inside out or there's always going to be some mistrust there.
So yeah, love rocks! (apart from when you get your heart broken :( )
Okay, well I'm not the most popular person in my grade, I'm average, not a nerd but not popular. And, there's this popular girl that always hangs out with me at the football games, and I don't know why. Her name is Mackenzie, and at school, she's usually making fun of the fact that I'm dating Dane, or she's completely ignoring me. I don't even want to be friends with a popular person, it could lead to me being popular and then I'd lose all of my real friends. Besides, I don't want to be someone I'm not. So does anyone know why she's all the sudden hanging out with me?
She probably thinks that because shes 'popular' she can hang out with whoever she wants and they'll be grateful. When I was at school I had a similar thing happen to me - this girl suddenly started talking to me in P.E lessons but would avoid me and even make fun of me elsewhere. I guess she just didn't have any of her friends in the P.E class.
What I'm trying to say is, if she's just using you so she doesn't look like a loner, then humour her and talk back - what harms it gonna do? But if she genuinely needs a friend at the football games then there's no reason why you shouldn't hang out with her, unless you really really hate her!
Don't worry about the 'becoming popular' thing, if you stay grounded and don't give a damn what anyone else thinks, then you'll keep your old friends. Just see it as making a whole bunch of new friends ON TOP of your old ones.
And lastly, you won't become someone you're not just because your seen as 'popular'. Yeah, some girls are fake just to get popularity, but if people like you for who you are then there's no problem.

i wanted to learn how to break dance since 4th grade. But my mom and teacher said no because its hard. So i didnt mention breakdancing that much for long time until 7th grade my uncle's nephew taught me how to do some simple moves. But he just visits like once a year. So i didnt learn it in 8th grade, i heard my friend's bf knows how to breakdance but he didnt want to teach me, he just said he cant breakdance. 9th grade, finally he taught how to do some simple stuff too, and my friend asked me and said" how come you wanna learn how to breakdance out of no where?" and im afraid that people will think im a poser. The question is am i poser for wanting to learn how to breakdance?
Of course you're not a poser. Just because someone thinks you are it doesn't mean you actually are. Thats their misinformed perception - they didn't know you've wanted to for so long.
I mean, if you suddenly decided to learn to break dance because you wanted to look cool, then yeah, you might be a bit of a poser, but from what you've said your definately not.
I want to learn how to play the piano but I don't want to take classes because I don't have time and I heard they take it very fast. I want to learn on the computer so that way I can pace myself and just learn when I'm not busy with homework, etc. Does anyone know a really good online web where they show you what each note is and everything you need to know that doesn't require downloading or someone can teach me online?

I've been playing the piano since I was 5, and to be honest the best way to learn is from someone who can play... so I'd really advise getting lessons! I only have them once a week for half an hour, so it really doesn't take up much time. Plus they don't take it really fast - only as fast as you can manage. And even if you did teach yourself online or whatever, you'd still have to practice in your own time.

Has anyone else besides me noticed that the age of kids starting to have sex is dropping more and more. I mean the other day my friend told me she knew an 11 year old that had sex. I was like whoah thats messed up i'm 15 and i'm still a virgin and proud of it.lol. I mean serisouly what kind of a message is this sending to other countries?
So two questions...
Do you think Americas youth is way too sex oriented? yes or no?

Well being from the UK, obviously I dont know too much about America's sex lives, but if most of the kids asking questions on here are American, then yeah, I'd agree that these kids are way too young.
Here in the UK, though, the age of kids interested in sex is dropping year by year. When I was 13, just holding hands with someone else was a big deal, but now theyre getting pressured into sexual relationships far too early.
So yeah, I guess its the influences from their 'friends' more than anything. And before that, they're influenced by TV, music, basically EVERYTHING in society because EVERYTHING seems to revolve around sex now.
And there's no censorship! I don't know about the USA, but here there's programs on at 9pm with really raunchy scences in, and kids are watching them and wanting to imitate them.
I have no problem if the young person is physically and mentally mature enough to make their own decisions about sex, but when kids want to do it 'because its cool', then I think thats really sad.
I want a new blogging site. I have already tried Livejournal and Xanga.

BEBO! I don't know if you've heard of it, but its great! FAR better than myspace in my opinion, and its really easy to use. You can upload pictures, connect with friends and (most importantly to you) write to a blog! It might not be the type you want though - if you want it to be kept private then bebo isn't for you as anyone can read it.
If you want privacy, try AOL's own maybe. You can put a security password on it so only you can access it.

Theres this boy i like who is sooo lovely and sweeet and i have only known him a couple of months but we have everything in common and that!

So on tuesday i went out and i see him and was hanging with him all day and he kept cuddling me and stuff
I really really like him buti have no idea if he likes me or not because im too scared to ask

OK, I usually don't like to get people hopes up in case I'm wrong, but in this case I think he DEFINATELY likes you. If he didn't like you, why would he cuddle you all the time when he already knew you liked him? That would be sending the wrong signals.
It sounds to me as if hes too shy to admit he likes you, but id trying his hardest to let you know without actually telling you straight.
If you really really really can't ask him face to face if he likes you, ask him the same way you told him you liked him! Over msn, myspace or whatever, or even by text messaging, will be the best way. Thats how I found out this guy liked me... and we've been together 9 months now! :D

How can I make this school year go by really fast? I'm already getting very worn out from school and homework and stuff. And every day just feels like soooo long!! Plus I'll be getting a part-time job soon. How can I keep myself really really busy and make this year go by pretty quickly? By the way, I'm a pretty independent person. OK there's no way to physically speed up time... although I'm sure you know that already...
ANYHOO I generally find that keeping myself busy makes the time fly by, oh and of course, having fun helps too!
But are you sure you want the year to go quickly? Its kinda wishing your life away isn't it?
Oh, and I noticed the bit about you spending time mostly on your own out of school; You're probably one of these peopl who likes their own company, but if you spend time with some friends it not only speeds the time up, it makes it more fun!
P.S I heard thatif you go REAAALLLY fast like faster than the speed of light, time actually physically slows down for you! So I figure if you stay absolutely still time should speed up... lol anyways I hope I helped
agh i need help pranto!!! well i woke up this morning and everything was fine so then i decided to put ice cubs on my face IDK WHY! i guess i read somewhere that if u do the redness from a blemish goes away??? well after putting the ice cubes on my face got even more red!!! and school starts tomrorow!!! and after the ice cubes i put make up on to try to cover it up but then i didnt wnat to clog up my pores so i fashed my face with an acne scrub then wied it with acne wipes and put acne lotion on but it got EVEN MORE RED!! now i dont know what to do and AGHH IM PANICINING!! because tihs never happened before.... welll one time before when i used this spa treatment thing?? PLEASE HELPPPP!!!
I get really bad blotchy and red skin sometimes too, but DON'T WORRY! I usually find that if I don't put anything on it for a day (that includes make up I'm afraid!) that it clears up pretty quickly. And by the sounds of it your skin has just got a little irritated, so the chemicals and stuff in the acne lotion won't have helped! My advice is sleep on it, and it probably will have gone down by the morning.
If it doesn't, by the way, its not the end of the world; people won't notice it half as much as you think you will.
Oh and if it doesn't clear up in a few days, I'd go see a doctor.

i moved here about a year ago,and i have no friends,i used to have friends..but they betrayed me..and everyone here..is snobby,barbie dolls,and there ALL the same.(im 13/in 7th) i dont even want to be friends with rude and mean people.I still have lots of friends in my old city..but i never get to see them..I tried everything i can to move back,and i really want to.I get bad grades,i cant focus.its like i cant make anything right.Everyone hates me in my new town,but its not like i care,because i dont care about them at all. i just really wanna move back..How can i actually try and get her to? (were not rich)Ps-- We are living with my moms boyfriend..he owns the house and we just..live in it.and i dont even think my mom likes him that much anymore. she doesnt listen to me and my brothers feelings
Whatever you do, don't change yourself to fit in! I'm sure they're not all barbie dolls - if you just be friendly and nice to people I'm sure people will like you for who you are. Honestly! I used to think if I didn't know a person then I shouldn't talk to them or make an effort, but you wouldn't beleive the amount of new friends I've made by just smiling at people! But if you have been trying to make friends and it's not working, then you really need to talk to someone about it - maybe a teacher, or even your mum? I know you say she doesn't listen to you, but I'm sure she'll care if you're that upset.
