my hair

Question Posted Thursday October 5 2006, 7:15 am

After I straighten my hair it goes wavy after like 10min. Then I straighten it again, and it gets better. Still I want it straight the first time, does anybody now any tips I could use?

*Thanks<33

Put this stuff called Pantene Pro-V Get it Straight mousse. put it in your hair before you straighten it. also, probably get a new straightner. I got a pink Revlon one for only 12.90 at Marshalls and it works really good! Check walmart, target, stores like that. also check for a straightner with ceramic plates that work a lil better and dont damage your hair as much. the price of straightners should be between $10-40 but hey, its worth it. also use a straightning shampoo and conditioner and when you straighten your hair it should be straighter. i recommend the purple sunsilk or herbal essences Dangerously Straight. when you're done straightning your hair, use herbal essences dangerously straight hairspray. good luck and hope i helped!

p.s. please rate!

3 suggestions

1. get a new straightener (maybe the one your using is not working as well as it did when you got it, etc)

2. after straightening your hair use hairspray (hairspraying your hair will make your hair stick, but it will not lose hold of the straightness of your hair (lol sorry if thts worded a little weird))

3. follow both 1 & 2

www.folica.com

^^ it has everything you need from hair products to straighteners, etc

hope i helped

Uh, get a better straightener.....?
Chi is the type I would suggest. They may be pricey, but hey, they work.
Or may I also suggest the most obvious thing ever?
It's this thing called hair spray. It's magical.

The key is to have a good shampoo, conditioner, and a styling product. Here are the products I recommend: John Frieda Frizz-Ease Straight Ahead Shampoo, John Frieda Frizz-Ease Straight Ahead Conditioner, John Frieda Frizz-Ease Daily Nourishment Leave-In Fortifying Spray, and John Frieda Frizz-Ease Straight Answer Straightening Spray.

First, shampoo and condition. Then, use fortifying spray, and use the straightening spray before you straighten your hair. I would even use the fortifying spray after you're done straightening your hair, it will keep it in place and frizz-free. The fortifying spray is the best, you can use it anytime you want, and it is so good for your hair. I know, I use it!

i suggest right after you straighten it to put some form of style gel in it to protect from it going wavy. You can also put your straightener on the highest heat and it will stay straight...but dont do that all the time becuase its very damaging.

LM answered Thursday October 5 2006, 3:16 pm:
Use a smoothing/straightening creme before you straighten your hair. The best ones I ever used were Herbal Essences Smoothing Creme (it comes in a green squeeze tube, but think it was discontinued. Which stinks because it was seriously the best) A close second is L'Oreal Paris HOT Straight Straightening Cream (comes in a pink squeeze bottle and works almost as well as the Herbal Esscences one)

Also, I use Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum (it's $17 a bottle, but lasts for ages) to get the wave and "poofiness" out before I start.

Finish your hair with hairspray and/or finishing spray (whatever works better for your hair type) Three that I love are Bed Head (splurge), Herbal Essences (budget), and GOT2b freeze spray or something (somewhere in the middle, price-wise)

Also, when youre straightening, straighten the entire length of your hair. Like, if the bottom half of your head is REALLY curly, don't just straighten that part because you may end up woth a bump of some sort, which may be causing your hair to go wavy.

And lastly, make sure you're using a half-decent straightener. You definitely dont need a $120 CHI, but don't use a 4.99 CVS one either you know?

hope I helped you :]
If you need any more suggestions don't hesitate to ask me, I've probably tried every possible hair product by now :D

my hair does thee same thing. go to like a store like target or something and get like a spritzer for your hair. it helps so then when you straighten your hair it will not burn as badly. and it helps you get your hair straighter. hope i helped.

try using gel or keeping it on your hair longer. but be careful because using a straightener too much can burn out your hair,
id get one of those spritz gel spray things that like lorel or pantee have they usually say "naturally straight" or something for you to spray on your hair right before you use it. they work really good. but any type of water that goes on your hair after you straighten it .. will def. make it frizz up.
