Question Posted Wednesday September 27 2006, 4:43 pm
I have a sore breast, it started about six months ago and i have already been to the doctors about it.
They reffered me to a clinic who said there wasn't a lump and refused to give me a mammogram, the doctors said it was just due to my age.
She also said it should go away by itself in a couple of months, that was 3 months ago.
Should i be worried, should i go back to the doctors or am i just being paranoid? There is a history of cancer in my family but not breast cancer.
I just need some reassurance that its okay!

They could also be sore from wearing the wrong size bra. Do they still feel sore if you don't wear a bra for a long period of time? Have you noticed them getting bigger? Mine get sore, only because they are still growing. Hopefully the soreness will go away, but if you're that worried about it, go back to your doctor. Tell them that they wouldn't give you a mammogram. You should have one about every five years, and every couple of years when you reach your 40's, so it's ridiculous for them to tell you no. Is there someone else you could go to? It's your decision if you want to have one, not theirs. I hope I helped and feel free to e-mail me if you have anymore questions. <3 Dana [ littleblufirefly's advice column | Ask littleblufirefly A Question ]

you want a mammogram. Have him set it up with someone who will give you one.
That stupid "you're to young" nonsense is just that. If it would ease your mind then you keep after them and don't take no for an answer. In all likelihood
they are right and it is nothing. But peace of mind is worth a lot and eases stress.
