I want to success in school and try my hardest to get straight A's or at least 4 of them. I want to make my mom and dad proud of me and I'll feel really good in side.
My true question is, how do you increase your memory? I want to have a better memory so when I hear it, I learn it quicker.
OR
How do I remember things? I want to do really well in school. Should I read more books? Should I read at least 1 hour a day? Should I review old things over and over?
Teachers, parents, friends, you can help me!
Any advice will help a lot.
if you eat a good breakfast, you will pay better attention in school because your not focused on hunger, your focused on the subject.
do your homework right when you get home, so you can get a good night sleep and look over it in the morning to review
dont wait until the last minute to study, dont cram everything in at once. read like one section a night
reading on a regular basis will make you a faster reader,so pick out some books your interested in and get reading!
if you listen to music it helps you retain knowledge better, atleast for me anyways. but dont put on like distracting music.soundtracks and older cds work best for me.
alot of stuff you learn in school is just built up off of the basics, like math, and a foreign language, so pay attention to reviews in chapters and end of section questions, and make a point to know vocabulary because chances are it will show up on a quiz or test
lucretiamott answered Sunday September 3 2006, 9:10 pm: i don't think it's a matter of increasing your memory. i have a similar problem in school. i've figured out that being able to memorize as good as some genius in your class won't make you do any better in school. what you have to do is study study study. do all of your work. school is your number 1 priority. don't worry about going online or on myspace or watching tv. after school everyday, i take a 30 minute break; just chill, eat something, yada yada. and then you hit the books. avoid everything that will make it harder for you to concentrate on what you're doing. another thing i've noticed is that if you play a sport during the year, you'll be focused more on school and the sport rather than everything else. so try playing a sport. that way, you'll only have time to worry about school and whatever you're playing. but basically, yeah, just hit the books, stay organized, stay on top of all your work. oh, and make your teachers like you :) [ lucretiamott's advice column | Ask lucretiamott A Question ]

I heard that it's good to study when you wake up in the morning, because your mind is still weird from sleep and you're more likely to take more information in. Sort of like that thing people do where they listen to books being read or something like that when they sleep. [ the11road1's advice column | Ask the11road1 A Question ]

DefinedEyes answered Sunday September 3 2006, 12:29 pm: Here are some studying tips I clipped from a magazine just the other day, that I think will help!
Work on assignments daily, not the night before. Do your homework and get it out of the way after school, opposed to late at night.
To stay motivated in boring classes, ask teachers to discuss how this course can be helpful in real life. Ask as though you're really interested, not as a challange for the teacher to defend her field.
To master a tough subject, get help as soon as you realize you need it. After a class, let your teacher know that you're not getting the material and ask for help. They will do anything to help you succeed.
Try this simple concentration trick to make a subject really sink in:
Sit up front! The more objects between you and the teacher, the more easily you get distracted. [ DefinedEyes's advice column | Ask DefinedEyes A Question ]
girlmeetsboy answered Sunday September 3 2006, 12:08 pm: well its good that you want to do well but don't kill over it.
to get a better memory reading books does help, so you should read 30min to an hour a day.
when you learn in school when they tell you information plant it in your head. a better idea is to write notes, and when you get home review them.
destroytocreate answered Sunday September 3 2006, 11:36 am: yeah you should read more it makes your skills i memory and vocabulary faster. and also after class if your forgetting things just reveiw ur notes once in a while or more if needed. and an easy way to memorize something is to keep writing it until you have it glues to your brain
and remember DONT PRESSURE YOURSELF OVER YOUR GRADES
