Alternatively, exercise is great it realeases endorphins naturally. Pilates /yoga is particularly good. If you can try some group sports or neighbourhood stuff as seeing/talking and mixing with the universe will allow you to pick up some great energy of other people (i know you don't want to go out).
Also, i hope this is only a temporary thing? If it persists it might be a good idea to see someone. make sure you are eating well - fresh fruit and veges stay of the sugars and junk foods - as although they might give you a short term high and energy, you get more from eating slow realease carbs (rice, pasta, some breads). sizzlinmandolin answered Saturday September 2 2006, 10:29 pm: Exercising will help a lot. Exercise causes your body to release endorphins. Endorphins chemically make you happier. Sounds pretty weird, but it's true! Exercise always helps me whenever I get sad or depressed. So go for a jog or something and it should make you feel at least a little better. I hope it works for you and good luck. :) [ sizzlinmandolin's advice column | Ask sizzlinmandolin A Question ]

xoMarisox answered Saturday September 2 2006, 6:03 pm: My main mood lifter is watching movies. They always help me get my mind off things. Or, listening to music can help alot too. You can also try reading a book or a magazine, calling some friends, e-mailing someone you haven't talked to in a while, writing in a journal, going on the computer, watching tv, or hanging with your family.
MelLeDisko answered Saturday September 2 2006, 5:55 pm: Read a book, listen to some music that relates to whatever it is might be making you sad, or just uplifting feel better music, ride a bike, exercise, draw or paint a picture, write a story or song or poem, see if you're allowed to invite a friend over and you two can hang out. Watch a movie and make some popcorn [ a funny movie ]. If it's nice out, take a walk. Put on your favorite song in your room and just dance around [ lock the door though so nobody walks in haha ]. I hope I helped. [ MelLeDisko's advice column | Ask MelLeDisko A Question ]
