training for wrestling

Question Posted Friday September 1 2006, 10:42 pm

I am 15/m and want to be a pro wrestler. Not Olympic or college, I mean the stuff on tv (yes I know its mostly fake). I need to get stronger but I dont know how to other than lifting weights. Is there anything I can get at a place like GNC that is not harmfull for someone my age and that is LEGAL? Any other things I can do?

You're looking for something that's as good as steroids and is legal eh? Well the bad news is that there is nothing in the world that will build muscles and strength like steroids, they definitely DO work the really bad news is that they are illegal and the substances called Prohormones which were the closest thing you could get to them have also been outlawed. You are 15 years old and these have no business being in your life to begin with but I figured I would let you know the facts.

Before you go trucking over to GNC and talk to the salesperson who totally hypes up the new protein powder or Nitric Oxide pill saying it gives 1000000% more strength and lean mass in 3 weeks I suggest you get your workout and diet in order. Train hard, train heavy and learn to love the iron- wanna look and be strong like a wrestler? Well you gotta train like one. Until you're eating plenty of protein, lifting religiously and have the clean diet where you eat 4 or 5 times a day stay away from "Wonder supplement X" at GNC and if you do go just get yourself a bottle of protein powder, don't listen to the idiot trying to sell anything else to you because I worked there and we were always encouraged to take advantage of gullible people who didn't know much about supplements and try to sell them the most expensive bottle of this or that.

You got all the time in the world dude, don't try and rush it...just lift and eat and all will be good.

Do something that will not just build strength, but increase your awarness about your body. Martial arts is VERY good for that, find a good school and start training would be one of my suggestions. You might not like this one, but Ballet also makes you incredibly stable on your feet. =P Muscle building can actually come later, but if you start working on something like martial arts now, that could do you a lot of good in the long run.

Hope that helped!

yay! i luv pro wrestling 2! anyhoooo i think you should keep doing weights if you think you should, but use those protein shakes and stuff. get "up your mass" cause its endorsed by kurt angle(wrestler to those who dont know" and thats what he uses. you get bars and shakes. oooh and stay away from steroids, i was watching this nasty documentry called "the man who's arms exploded" i think it explains itself. well hope i helped :)

For gaining muscels, the best thing that could happen to your body is puberty. Guys gain a lot of strenth as they are about your age and for the next few years. I would say that you'll probably be getting a lot more muscel mass by the time you are 18 or so. It is hard to gain much muscel while you are still young, unfortunatly. Have you ever seen a 9 year old with huge arms? Of course not! That is because his body isn't able to grow that strength at that time. So, keep that in mind. Also, most things out there, such as pills, do have some negative effects. The negative side effects might not be too bad though, especially if you aren't on them for years straight. However, I'm pretty sure that every one of those is made for people 18 and up. When you get down to it, it's the basics that work. Lifting the weights and getting on a good diet should help. You could even see if you like raw eggs. Could be fun. Anyway, along with those weights, you'll want to do some excersizes with small reps. Perhaps one of the wrestlers you like has some tips out there on the internet that you could look up. I would check that out.
