Finnaly getting cell phone
I am finnaly getting a cell phone!! but.. it is my Mom's old one :( but y'know it is something. I am going into High School and they say like 100 minutes is enough, but i am afraid that when i get new friends i will be talking to them alot, and i cannot convince my parents that i NEED more minutes... what should i do???

100 minutes is less then 2 hours do you not have a land phone that you can use to if soo use that for conversations and the cell for quickies if your parents gripe about the land phone usage then explain that 100 minutes is just not enough for a primary phone. if that fails youll just have to see your friends face to face more or e-mail

100 mins is not that much at all , you just need to tell them you want more mins and be nice to them about it , or just use your phone after 9 ♥

i dont use the phone that much, but i still use about 200-300 minutes a month at least (cuz 100 minutes a month is only 3 minutes a day without going over)
so start out with it, and then, if you use up moere, ask you parents.
also, you could offer doing chores and stuff so instead of them paying you a higher allowance, than you just owrk more
or you can offer to pay for it out of your own money

100 minutes is no where near enough for me, and im not much of a phone person. It wouldn't be best of you to look at more minutes. It would be better if you get a plan with free mobile to mobile. Like if all ur friends have cingular, get cingular with free mobile to mobile. And they have that one new company where you can supposedly choose the numbers you can share free mobile to mobile with regardless of their service provider.

1.) Offer to pay for the extra minutes.
2.) Stick to mostly texting your friends & using your minutes for when you can't use your house phone.
3.) Go 3492 minutes over your limit & let them bitch at the bill that is higher than it would have been if they just bumped up your minutes a bit. Bwaha.

i am sure your parents will understand if you run out of minutes from tlking to your friends. but you can also like talk to them on your house phone. my parents always bought me minutes when i ran out.

if they have the same service as you then it would be free.. like if you have cingular and your friend had cingular, then you wouldnt be using any minutes. when you are home, use your homephone instead and if you want to talk on your cell phone, talk to your friends after 9pm and on the weekends because its free then.. hope i helped!

Ask your friends if they have the same service provider, ie, Cingular, Verizon etc. If most of them do you get free mobile to mobile, free weekends and free minutes in the evening. Honestly, it's hard to burn 100 minutes after school on weekdays when you'll probably be able to use the home phone.

well use your cell phone for when you are not at home and use your house phone for when you are at home. Or you could get your own plan with your own minutes and only have to pay the bill once a month. Show them that you are responsible enough to have more minutes and they will give you more once you have shown them that you can handle it and if you go over they will know that they were wrong not to do what you asked.

i think you should try and like show them the phone bill and tell them about your other friends phones and how the minutes just go realy fast....specially if u have a bf:P hahahaha.......and if that doesnt work then at first try and not use a lot of time on ur cell then when they see you can handel it they should see you can handel it and give you more....hope it helps

100 mins is never going to be enough.. only for emercencies. I would offer to pay for part of it if you could have more mins and try to take advantage of free nights and weekends..thats what i do. i only end up using like 52 of my 800 day mins then i usually have over 300 on nights and weekends. But if you parents are paying for it i would be grateful because i pay 100% of my bill and would be thrilled if my parents payed for 100 of my mins and thats all i had. Just be smart and responsible. Going over your mins by alot to prove a point would most likely make things worse

100 minautes a month is a little over 1 and a half hours. That really isnt enough. You should make a chart comparing different Plans and show your parents that you are responsible enough and that you deserve this. I went throug the saem thing with my parents and im getting me new cell tomrrow. Belive me, if you take the responsiblity and time to go and research other plans like cingluar[recommended] verzion,sprint,t-mobile ect...im sure your parents will give in sooner or later.
