i don't want to have to change my tampon during school, but i'm afraid of getting TSS. if i left it in all day i would have it in from 6:30-3. that is like 8 1/2 hours. i know that your not suppose to wear it for more than 8 hours, but what are my chances of actually getting TSS if i do this? thanks :]

itsz_JESS answered Friday August 18 2006, 8:34 pm: i dont think you would highly get TSS because the average hours you leave it in are 4-8 hours. if you still want to use tampons, change it during lunch ..but as the other advice said, wear a thin pad or something just in case it leaks because that can sometimes happen [ itsz_JESS's advice column | Ask itsz_JESS A Question ]
Razhie answered Friday August 18 2006, 8:31 pm: It's possible you could get TSS but not too likely. It's far more likely that you will get some leakage if you wear a tampon that long.
Either change your tampon (lots of people do it, there are little boxes right there in the stalls for you too) or wear a thin pad along with the tampon, just to avoid embarrassment and the icky feeling. [ Razhie's advice column | Ask Razhie A Question ]

DefinedEyes answered Friday August 18 2006, 3:26 pm: In a rare case you could get TSS,
but dont risk it.
During school you get breaks,
which usally gives you enough time to change them, during your lunch our , or if you have some time inbetween classes. [ DefinedEyes's advice column | Ask DefinedEyes A Question ]
