My puppy is almost 9 months and we can't potty train her! We've tried everything! We take her out every hour, or half hour. Sometimes shell go outside for three days then out-of-the-blue go on the floor! HELP!

When you dog goes inside, stick her nose close to 'it' and firmly say no. Then leave her oustide for a few minutes. Good luck... some dogs can just be stubborn. merecedesxlove answered Saturday August 12 2006, 7:22 pm: Sometimes certain breeds are harder to train to not go inside the house. It still is a puppy and it takes time and patience.I dont know if you've already tried them but there are these things called puppy pads which is just like a mat that you lay on the floor. Its kinda like a subtitude for newspaper. It will help the puppy from going inside the house and go straight to the puppy pad instead. My dogs a shih tzu and we've been training her since she was a real young pup it took her a good two years to train her to go outside. So sometimes it just takes patience. kittygurl90 answered Friday August 11 2006, 11:10 pm: Alright well i got my puppy when he was about 8 weeks old and we had im potty trained within 3 weeks. what we did was put some sort of bells like jingle bells or some sort of jungly thing..haha and then hang them on the door and then when you take her out take her nose or paw and touch it to the bells and then she should learn to hit them when she wants to go out and then you will know. Hope this helps if you need any other help with this..let me know!
hottie411 answered Friday August 11 2006, 2:49 pm: omg my puppy does the EXACT same thing!! except we got her when she was six weeks old, and now she's about 11 months old, and she's still not fully potty trained, but she's getting there. she's a shi-tzu, and she goes on her potty training matt everytime for like 3 days, and then she just stops and goes on the floor. what you should do is crate train her. if she starts sniffing the floor, put her outside. if she starts to go on the floor, say no and put her outside and let her finish there. if she goes on the floor, put her in her crate. when you let her out, put her outside and let her go to the bathroom. everytime she goes outside, give her a tiny treat and reward her.
These might come in handy too, they are bitch britches. My dog uses belly bands, because hes just a plain retard =] But the dog won't like sitting around in its own pee so it will want to use the bathroom outside. [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)

You absolutely MUST crate train her!
No matter how old a dog is, if they mess in the house, they need to be crate trained. You also need to be taking her outside whenever she wakes up from sleep or a nap, right after she eats, and after she gets exercise.
At any rate, you need to start crate training right now.
This is a great site which just happens to be by a guy who trains German Shepherds, but this info works on ALL dogs, big and small.
