If I pay someone to watch my kids they had better not be worrying about watching my TV, listening to an iPod, or talking to their boyfriends on my computer. [ Sadie63341's advice column | Ask Sadie63341 A Question ]

Play with the kids, do crafts, read to them, take them for a walk. Do the dishes, clean the house, help with laundry...you get the idea. [ Nallie's advice column | Ask Nallie A Question ]
Ask_Little_Brittany_123 answered Wednesday July 19 2006, 2:31 pm: Well, bring a book to read or something.Maybe play a fun game with the kids like tag hide and seek and etc.If you have like a game boy or anything bring that to but when you are finish playing with it put it in a high place so the kids cant get it.Hope its good! missmad127 answered Wednesday July 19 2006, 2:11 pm: well you said the kids just sat around and did nothing too, so nect time bring some crafts or games too play. It may not be what you want to be doing, but it will keep both you and the kids entertained for a while.

Igotamonopoly answered Wednesday July 19 2006, 12:39 pm: When I last baysat, I brought a huge bag full of things to do. I had crafts, books, board games, and a couple outside toys. We didn't touch the TV, and we used all of the stuff in my bag. The kids had a great time!! [ Igotamonopoly's advice column | Ask Igotamonopoly A Question ]
Brandi_S answered Wednesday July 19 2006, 1:01 am: I wish I could come up with a better answer than this one- save your babysitting cash and get yourself an ipod, so you have one for your entertainment. That is, of course, if you aren't saving your money for something more important such as college.
Other than that, I don't know the age of the kid(s) you are sitting, but maybe you can take something along that you are interested in that they can be involved in too. (such as crafts, or board games, etc.) I was a bored sitter once too, and doing stuff with little kids, i found, can pass the time quicker than you might think. sassysara answered Wednesday July 19 2006, 12:09 am: Ok I understand that you are bored and that you are used to having stuff around to distract you like tv etc... but if you are getting paid to babysit then you need to be with the kids at all times. You say they don't do anything but maybe you should plan stuff like taking them to the park or playing outside with them etc... You also shouldn't be listening to an ipod while babysitting how will you hear when something happens to one of the kids. Even playing board games or cards with them will make the time pass more quickly.
I understand that its summer and you want to have fun before school starts and you have to get serious again but if you want to babysit then doing stuff with the kids is the best way to pass the time quickly.
