Sadie63341 answered Sunday July 16 2006, 10:13 pm: If they couldn't afford $30, they wouldn't give you $30. Take the money and be happy about it. Just make sure you do a great job at babysitting the kids. Go the extra mile to make the kids happy, but make sure they stay well-behaved for mom and dad when they get home. You don't want the parents thinking you let them run wild. Let the parents know how much you appreciate the money. Make sure you telel them "thank you" every time, or even write them a little thank you card. Parents really appreciate those things. [ Sadie63341's advice column | Ask Sadie63341 A Question ]
DD answered Sunday July 16 2006, 10:07 pm: 30 dollars is not that much. I once babysat and the people gave me 10 dollars PER HOUR. They just moved here to Canada from the United states and said the excange rate was different so they should be paying more. It makes no sense but i made like 50 bucks that night, so 30 dollars is not that much. [ DD's advice column | Ask DD A Question ]

DancinCutie08 answered Sunday July 16 2006, 8:54 pm: I don't think thats bad.. a little high maybe but not too much. My sister makes $2 per hour per child and she is your age and at the end of the night she makes about $20 which isnt bad. I would say for your age you are lucky because i only get $7-10 and hour for watch 3 kids under 4 and thats alot harder than what you ahve because they are self suffient. if you dont like making that much spend some money taking them on a trip to the pool or an early movie [ DancinCutie08's advice column | Ask DancinCutie08 A Question ]
xshelbyyyy answered Sunday July 16 2006, 8:45 pm: That sounds about right. I babysit and me and my clients agree on a rate per hour most of the time. Sit them down and tell them "Do you think my wages are fair? I'm new to this and I am wondering if you think i deserve it" They will tell you why and maybe you could ask if you could get paid by the hour and maybe come upon $11-$15 a hour. But honestly, $30 sounds about right, but if they for some reason come home way early one night, and your only there maybe 45 minutes or so then tell them that you cant accept full wage. Hope I helped!

Corielistens answered Sunday July 16 2006, 8:30 pm: Hey if you think it is too much then set down a compromise. Tell you don't mean o be mean or anything but and then you say what you think. Then if they don't give in then just say you feel bad that your getting too much money. It is no problem. Maybe they think since your a teenager you want more money. K
