Me and my mom are very open with eachother and she was telling me a lot of stuff. She's 44 now and during her whole life she's NEVER worn a thong, never shaved her pussy, never fingered anyone or gave anyone a handjob or blow job, never masturbated, only made out with someone 3 times, and she's only had sex 2 times in her whole life and those 2 times were when me and my sister were born. To start off with, I think every kid thinks that their mom is a prude. Most moms don't want their kids doing all the stuff that they did when they were younger. It's really none of your business about your mom's sex life... and probably nothing that you really want to think about. I think that's it's best to let sleeping dogs lie in this case... just forget about it. And if she really is telling you the truth, she probably is a prude.

Thongs are relatively new. Most people over the age of 30 don't appreciate that "I have something in my butt crack" feeling.
Not long ago a woman was considered an adult if she had pubic hair. Bikini line shaving suddenly turned into "lets shave the whole area and look 13". So that isn't at all strange either.
As far as the sex things go....I would have a hard time believing her answers. But, I don't know her. I don't think your mom is necessarily a prude.

It definitely sounds like she wasn't too experienced in the sexual category, but so what? She turned out fine right? You may want to experiment a lot more than your mom did, and that's okay. Everyone's different when it comes to sexual activity.
