Make sure the bad as wings. If you still feel uncomfortable with just that pad, you can use an secound pad acorss the back (longways) behind the other bad. A pad without wing is best for that spot, and it will catch anything that happenes to come out the back.

You can try sleeping in a tampon & a pad, you won't get TSS, from sleeping in it. If use corectly you'll be fine. Most people get TSS when they like completely FORGET about the tampon. So don't worry about that. If you use tampons you can try them & if you don't try an over night one, and maybe an extra one in the back if you feel the need :]

Nallie answered Tuesday July 11 2006, 11:13 pm: Tampons are safe if used as directed, you can always wear a tampon and a pad together. If you don't want to use a tampon get the night time pads--and you can get them in a longer length. If you are changing a pad about every hour, you might want to see your Dr for a check up. Mackenzie answered Tuesday July 11 2006, 7:21 pm: Make sure you use pads with wings. Also, overnight pads are good. Tampons will also work. And if worst comes to worst, wear two pads back to back (extending the full length of the under garment). [ Mackenzie's advice column | Ask Mackenzie A Question ]
Teza answered Tuesday July 11 2006, 6:25 pm: Pads can get a bit messy when you sleep in them and while you're laying down, your period isn't as heavy. I honestly think you should swich to using tampons. If you never used them before, they're comftrable & easy to put in. You can also wear a pad & tampon over night just incase.
