LoveMeDo answered Tuesday July 11 2006, 9:29 pm: Well, if God is all powerful then why is evolution challenging him? I don't pretend to be an expert on evolution, but I do that God is real and that he created us. So coulden't that mean that he created evolution? In the bible it says that God created the earth in a week, but what is a week to god? Mabye to him it was as if he just snapped his fingers and plants were there, but to us mere mortals things like that take forever? I think that he could have created all the science behind that.
I just don't see how life could have began withought God. Sure things evolve..but how could life just have been there? And I mean even in the smallest forms. Someone had to start it! [ LoveMeDo's advice column | Ask LoveMeDo A Question ]
Alpha345 answered Monday July 10 2006, 3:43 pm: Evolution after the point of creation.
Meaning, God made the basics, and through his design, things evolved.
I don't see how people can be so set into evolution. Evolution from nothing is basically some cells "magically" came together to form higher grade cells, which in turn formed complex life. Life is way, way, WAY to complex for that.
To me, I have no doubt evolution takes place, we see it every day, but I also have no doubt that God is there. I simply cannot believe the whole theory of evolution, but I will believe the part I know to be true.
eternitysofbliss answered Monday July 10 2006, 1:48 pm: Try to have respect for the higher being whilst still realizing the aspects of science that have revealed themselves to us.
In my opinion this is the perfect way to look at things. Maybe you should try to merge both theories into a theory of your own. E.g., life was evolution from bacteria that god force evolution upon over time until life was formed and repeated evolution took place. Try to realize the scientific aspects yet respect the religious ones too. [ eternitysofbliss's advice column | Ask eternitysofbliss A Question ]
lulabelle answered Monday July 10 2006, 12:33 pm: What I don't understand is why Science and Religion both can't be right. Neither Science nor Religion can explain everything. We (as the human race) have so polarized our views that we've painted ourselves into a corner, which is were we are concerning these views. Each corner wants to have absolute correctness and it "ant" that easy. It is my theory that God created everything on earth, but not exactly like it says in the Bible and we did evolve, but not exactly how it is theorized by scientists today. It has definitely been proven that we have evolved, all of us, from one South African bushman tribe call the Le Sande (I think that’s the spelling). Anyway, they have proven genetically that everyone on earth is related to this one bushman tribe in South Africa. There is a detailed description about how Scientists proved this in a 2 hour show that airs on PBS (produced by National Geographic) every once in a while called “The Journey of Man”. There is also a book out about this too that you can purchase on Amazon or the PBS Shop, which I’ve included below. To give you a very short preview it basically shows you how we left this tribe and spread out in all the directions of the globe, it even shows the exact family in Kasickstain (sp) that all Europeans and Asians are descended from. It explains how our skin is different colors, for example, melanin is what makes a person’s skin darker and is a natural sunscreen. We also absorb vitamin D through our skin. When we moved to colder climates we were not able to absorb the vitamin D that we needed because the sun was not as strong there. So, our skin had to lighten up in order to let more sun and vitamin D in. That's why white people burn easier than darker skinned people and there are lighter and darker people. The summation to this study is that there is no such thing as race. We are all the same race who has simply evolved or mutated according to our needs when we moved into different environments. Now the Christian Religious view is that all of a sudden we sprang up and there we were. If that is so then who did Adam and Eves children marry? Did they marry their own brothers and sisters? That is a major taboo in this religion. Read Genesis, it does describe his children going off and marrying someone. If so, who were they? It is also described in the Bible that God created the world in 6 days and he rested on the 7th day. Very possible. Where we miss the point in our perception is how God's time is measured. Maybe this will help you to understand. A butterfly can live an entire lifetime in one week, and there are some moths that do it in a day. A snells perception of time is so slow that you or I could go and rob a bank and get back before it would see us move. My point is that God's day could be thousands, hundreds of thousands, or even millions of years in our perception of time. The higher up the evolutionary scale the longer the life span, so to speak and no one is higher than God. So, by the time God got to creating Man the earth could have already evolved hundreds of thousands or even millions of years according to our perception of time. It is my thought that humanity evolved from a previous primate that God created. We were the first humanoid beings and God thought this was good. It very easily could be that God picked the primate he wanted the evolutionary growth from and manipulated it genetically to mutate into the direction he wanted which was the creation of Adam and Eve. There is a much older version of Genesis that says Lilith was Adams first wife but that she was strong willed and felt she was his equal so he got rid of her and then Eve was created. My point here is yes God created the earth and all that is w/in, but s/he did it in an evolutionary manner. When God speaks to us it is in terms that s/he feels we can understand since we have not evolved mentally to his level. S/he uses the KISS method. Now if you are wondering why I say S/he all the time it is because no one has determined to my satisfaction that there is not both a male and female team here. If we are made in his image then why would there be two sexes created. For 10,000 years on this planet God was thought to be feminine and some still do. It was only a few thousand years ago when the Arians who came out of Northern India and descended into the Middle East, the area of Iran (Iranians are not Arabic people), that this opinion changed. The Arians also settled in so many different parts of the old world like Greece, for example. So much to think about. I don’t want to bog you down too much. I've given you some websites w/regards to the Journey of man and also the legend of Lilith. I hope this helps you on your journey of thought. Maybe you'll come up with some of the answers to some of the questions that the rest of us can't quite figure out. Good luck to you!

on there are lectures and explenations by Dr. Zakir Naik. he explains evolution and Religion by a scientific point of veiw. He talks about the Holy Qur'an but also the Bible. so maybe it can shed some light. so if you need anything else just let me know i have a ton of websites for anything about Religon or Evolution.... etc.

MaNdASzHElP247 answered Monday July 10 2006, 9:27 am: i discussed this topic in biology at school. and i too didnt know what to believe in. i said creation cause i believe in god. yet everyone managed to say that.. so i just used it. But i read around in books, and i looked up stuff online and i am sorta leaning to evolution. Its a very touchy, yet confusing topic. Everyone has a diffrent answer, but you can look it up online and just get a feel for the diffrent sides.
