bathing suit

Question Posted Sunday July 9 2006, 10:18 am

My dad is mad at me because I bought a bathing suit that cost $35. It was really good quality and material, and it's the one I've been wanting for a month now! It's really pretty and I don't have ANY other bathing suits that fit me. I think $35 for both pieces is cheap considering at American Eagle they are much more then that. Do you think it's a good price? My dad flipped out on me! He said to go to Walmart and get $10 ones, but personally I think all the clothes at Walmart are crap and they arn't even worth $15 ! How do I explain that $35 is a good price for a bathing suit, and even though Walmart's is cheaper, it's not good quality. He said if I can think of 3 good reasons to why the bathing suit is worth $35 I can keep it. Help?

I think you should

1. Show and explain to him how more money other bathing suits at other stores cost.

2. Show him how much good quality your bathing suit is, and how you've been waiting for it for a month now.

3. Take him to Walmart and/or show him the bathing suits so that he sees how cheap quaility and unattractive they are.

I think those are 3 good, valid reasons there. I hope you get to keep your bathing suit because I know how you feel. I hope I helped!

1.) It wasn't an impulse by. You wanted it for a while.

2.) It's better quality than one that can be found for 10$.

3.) You'll get good wear out of it.

The bathing suit was on sale for $35 instead of $75.
You've been really good with your behavior and you decided to treat yourself.
You deserve it.
You wanted to be unique.

1. it is most likely better material and it will last so much longer then a $10 one from walmart.

2. this is a cheap price for a good quality bathing suit considering most are about $100 for both pieces.

3. you choose what to do with your own money, not him! = )

4. tell him its the only one you can find that fits you perfectly.

ONE: my bathing suit was like, 60 dollars.. & i got it from target, because i was going somewhere.

TWO: bathing suits at abercrombie & places like that.. [where i usually get mine] are like 40, or higher.

THREE: if it was your money, then you can do whatever you please.

FOUR: if you've never worn a walmart bathing suit, dont be critizing it, my friend got one from there.. & shes had it for years now, & its really cute..& it wasn't '10' dollars. I don't know who you think you are.. but, just because its from 'walmart' doesn't mean its cheap.

its a really good price, 35 dollars.. for a flippin bathing suit, is dirt cheap. you could probaly get something from a thrift store.. just a little less. so yeah, whatever.

I have always bought my bathing suits at walmart. And they don't have very many there that are $10. Mine usually cost $30 and they last for years. So your Comment about bathing suits from walmart is very rude.

For one you probly will not be able to return the bathing suit. You can explain to him that you don't like the Walmart bathing suit quality. Or you can Say you bought the bathing suit with your own money. (if you did) And since its your money you can spend it on anything you want to spend it on.

Notso answered Sunday July 9 2006, 12:17 pm:
Most stores have a final sale policy on bathing suits so I don't know if you'd be able to return it all.

The easiest way to explain to him is show him other websites of stores that sell bathing suits like Victoria's Secret, Bikini Village, American Eagle etc. Tell him you plan on wearing this bathing suit all summer and next summer. You might even want to throw in that you did look at Walmart or other places but the bathing suits in the price range he suggested were too skimpy, or didn't have your size. He'll probably appreciate if you look or at least say you looked for a fairly modest bathing suit cus he's your Dad.

Tell him any of these!..
It's comfortable. Mostly, products which are more expensive are made from better material, making it feel nicer against your skin and not irritate. Also, it stands less of a chance of ripping!
It's a good fit. The prettiness is just the bonus.
You will make sure to get your wear out of it.
Considering the price you paid, it won't go out of style.
You feel more confident wearing something you chose that fits so well etc.

Lola answered Sunday July 9 2006, 12:09 pm:
First of all, i understand that you really like this bathing suit and want it. But this whole bathing suit between you and your father is honestly meaningless. I mean... its just a bathing suit and its not even expensive. So i have a suggestion, but i'm not sure if it'll work. Just buy the suit out of your money,if you really want it that much. And tell him that you've been saving up for it since a long time now, and i am sure that he'll be convinced, i mean, i always convince my dad this way.
