ok lemme get down to my question. well my last year in school i wasnt doing soo great.. i got by with Cs..what are some better habbits to get me back into getting better grades..i think my grades starting doing that because all i cared was how to get noticed better..i mean im semi-popular like i know everyone and all but i mean im not top-notch ya know? so any advice with better study habits while not going crazy over knowledge lol thank you soo much!!
missmanda answered Saturday July 8 2006, 10:46 pm: hm, totally went through all of that.
well, i think for habits, you should stay organized for one. for two, write down everything (hw/studying). right when you get home, take a while to relax, and then break out all of your homework. when that's done, go do somethings, and before you go to bed, study for 10 or 20 minutes, ya know? i think it'll help, that's my goal for next year. and about you saying the grades are slipping possibly from you trying to get noticed: i feel ya there, (laughs). i spent a lot of my time dealing with the whole social aspect of school, but you know, you don't have to spend all your time doing that. its all worth it in the end when you get your homework done. and you can even incorpurate the social part into the school part, you could have like study groups with people and stuff. ahh! good luck i hope everything goes hella good for you :) [ missmanda's advice column | Ask missmanda A Question ]
Helpful answered Tuesday July 4 2006, 1:19 pm: You don't have to go over the top in studying, just study enough to get the kind of grades you want. (It helps to study right before bed and right after you wake up because it sticks things in your memory. I mostly do this for tests.)Hope I helped! orphans answered Sunday July 2 2006, 11:16 pm: You can still be semi-popular and do great in school! Make sure you pay attention in class, but you can still talk to your friends. Make sure you ask questions when your confused, and when you get home just like have a snack and just get to work. Then you have the whole day to chat with your friends on AIM or on the phone. You can also try getting a tutor, that might help. But a good habbit is staying organized (binders) and getting homework done right away. Also check with your teachers every so often to see if you have any missing work. I mean you can make friends in your class and become more popular and still pay attention. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have more questions. :) [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]
rainxindoors answered Saturday July 1 2006, 10:03 am: Well first off, most students get C's or lower because they procrastinate. Now, I'm not telling you to do a project in one day to get it over with, but you should try doing a little of your project every day until the due date comes, so you aren't that stressed when it comes to the final day.
For tests, it's basically the same thing. Take a piece of your study guide and study that one night, then the next night work on another piece. When it comes to the final day, just review all of them and make sure you understand everything. Flash cards sometimes help, but if you don't have the time to make them you can always ask a parent/sibling/friend to help study by having them ask you questions about the lesson.
Good luck and remember to not get stressed or frustrated at all, because that makes it a whole lot worse. Take it one step at a time.
I hope I helped =] [ rainxindoors's advice column | Ask rainxindoors A Question ]
holahayley56 answered Friday June 30 2006, 11:37 pm: First off..everyone tells me I'm the popularest girl in school, I never even realized it, intill everyone told me. & if I really am, like how they say I am.. then it really is nothing special. Like everyone fights like is so much drama, & like i don't know..so really don't even worry about that. Concentrate on school. Because 10 years from now, no one will remember who was popular & who wasn't. It will all matter on how you did in school.
OK. now on good habbits for studying & such..
-Set a time to do your homework & study.
-When you study, find the best method that works for you [flashcards, reading etc]
-Pay attention in school. haha
-What I do.. is like social studies for instance, I find it EXTREMELY boring, but I like to pretend I live back then.. so like when shes talking like say its about presidents or something.. I'd pretend I was like married to them. So then I remember the ladys name & everything. I don't know how old you are, but ehh oh well. Its an Idea.
-Study a little bit every night.
-Reread the chapter
-Rewrite your notes.
-Only do this for about 2 hours [that includes your homework & such] Because well atleast I get tired after a while. & it becomes useless.
cinderelly answered Friday June 30 2006, 10:41 pm: In my opinion, school is more important than popularity. Look at the big picture. All the kids that are "popular" and the kids that are failing arent going anywheres in their life. But you, if you have a smart head on your shoulders, then you'll realize that you have the oppurtunity to get somewheres in life. Don't let that future be ruined by people who will hardly matter down the road. Don't let others drag you down when they start to fail, and not just in school but overall in life. <333 Some better study habits.. Hm. Eat breakfast, it always helps you remember things better. And study about 40 minutes before bed and when you wake up. If you study too much it tends to overwhelm your brain and you wont remember much information. :) [ cinderelly's advice column | Ask cinderelly A Question ]
