My dog has been acting strange. She digs her nose in between her blanket inside of her cage, and has started licking herself 'down there' a lot. This behavior is the same as when she was pregnant when she was 8 months old. She is currently 3 years old. What's going on?
isis answered Tuesday June 27 2006, 8:55 am: If there is no chance she could be pregnant but is exhibiting all the signs, it could be a phantom pregnancy. Try giving her a stuffed toy to look over and she may come out of it. Other than that, given time she will go back to normal.
You should also get her spayed as this should stop it happening again, get rid of the risk of a real pregnancy and also avoid any health risks associated with dogs that have not been spayed.
Good luck. [ isis's advice column | Ask isis A Question ]
