Saynotogymclass answered Thursday June 22 2006, 2:17 pm: I would strongly recommend that you DON't do that. 8 hours is the maximum and even that is still dangerous. What if your alarm clock broke or something? Don't put yourself at risk. Just wear a pad for sleeping (: [ Saynotogymclass's advice column | Ask Saynotogymclass A Question ]
LiLKimmy769 answered Thursday June 22 2006, 1:58 pm: well like others say, 8 hours is the max. but i leave my tampon in at night too, cause i hate wearing pads and ive never had a problem with it. so, its your decision, if you want to take a risk or not. good luck
LubedPumpkin answered Wednesday June 21 2006, 11:22 pm: The longer you leave it in, the more you leave yourself open for Toxic Shock, UTI or a yeast infection. Better to wear a pad at night and let it breathe. :) [ LubedPumpkin's advice column | Ask LubedPumpkin A Question ]
kristen22 answered Wednesday June 21 2006, 11:04 pm: You can wear a tampon for up to 8 hours, day or night, but keep in mind that you should change your tampon every 4 to 8 hours and use the lowest absorbency needed to reduce the risk of TSS (Toxic Shock Syndrome).
I always wear mine during the nights, sometimes sleeping over my 8 hour max. Use the Playtex Slimfits because it is the lowest absorbency needed and you can keep those in longer.
Edit- We all answered your exact question.. Will I be at a Health Risk? YES FOR TOXIC SHOCK SYNDROME IF IT IS LEFT IN OVER A 8 HOUR PERIOD. You need to rate fairly. If your question was answered right then that deserves a 5 for the people that took the time to answer your question. [ kristen22's advice column | Ask kristen22 A Question ]
SHELBYcrunkpants answered Wednesday June 21 2006, 10:56 pm: Your cutting it very close. Eight hours is the MAX. You are probably fine because TSS is very very rare just dont leave it in that long
anymore. Use pads during the night!
mmmmmmm answered Wednesday June 21 2006, 10:31 pm: tampons are only suppose to stay in for 8 hours at the maximum. though tss is very rear, i wouldn't take the chance if i were you.
beachpeach answered Wednesday June 21 2006, 10:21 pm: At most you should leave a tampon in at 8 hours but TSS is very rare, not to underemphasize the disease which is deadly. If you leave it in for 9 hours, you should be fine but try never too. 6-8 hours is normal. If you want to do that make sure you wake up in time to change your tampon. iheartdrumersss answered Wednesday June 21 2006, 10:20 pm: On the tampon box it says they can be used up to 8 hourse max. But you really should take them out about 6 or 7 hours later. It's really not a good idea to sleep with a tampon because if you do leave it in too long you could get toxic shock syndrome. So instead, use an over-night pad.
