okay well i am on my highschool cheer team and i am a back in my stunt group. before we go to camp we must have an extension. You know all the way up. well our flyer is brand new never cheered let alone flown before. we have a real good double base with craddle and just got a push up (double base pushing up to extension -- some people call it different things) well camp is at the end of the month and like i said we need a straight up extension. ive tried every peice of advice i could give our flyer but is there anyother tips i could give her to get over her fear and get her up easier? thanks sooo much =]

Heres somethings to help her up.
oo1. Tell her to find a spot on the wall, about level to where she`d be when she`s in an extension. ( Like a paint chip on the gym wall about 8ft up or something ) Once she concentrates on that all she needs to worry about is keeping her legs locked and help pull up her own weight by using her arms.
oo2. Also, she may just feel uncomfortable around new people, like she doesn`t trust you. So try doing somethings like the "Fall Back" Where she just falls back into your arms. You could also try to strengthen your relationship by having sleepovers and showing her that you guys won't let her fall =D
Cheerleading is all about trusting your squadmates: show her that she can trust you, and that you guys won`t let her fall and everything should go well. REMEMBER: Practice makes perfect :D Goodluck! [ duudee_advicer's advice column | Ask duudee_advicer A Question ]
