If you want to be more simpler then say, "Uh, I need some time to think but come back in a half hour and I'll deffinitely have an answer."

But it kind of depends on the parents because if you say somthings they may consider it back talk. isis answered Saturday June 3 2006, 6:21 pm: I guess it depends on the question that was asked. If you could be reasonably expected to know the answer, they could be annoyed if you say you don't know.
Then again, if they are asking you to make a decision about something and you can't make up your mind, this could be frustrating to them, especially if a quick reply is needed.
