Is there a proper way to deal with online harrassment? Can something be done? This needs to stop.

if you have conversations saved, any emails, or ANYTHING.. you can ALWAYS take it to the police. but.. TELL YOUR PARENTS FIRST. they will stand behind you 100%. just go to someone, and soon.

what you need to do is print it out and you can take it to the comps and they can press charges.. if you can keep it up on your comp the exact way you see it (like if its in an email or im) so that the comps can come trace it back if its that big of a deal... and keep all the info on it like dates, times everything

Earlier this year, I had to deal with this. So heres what I did.

1* Save the emails, IMs, comments, ect.
2* Print them out
3* Take them to the police station

Do not talk to those people, don't fight back, don't do anything that will make it look like you are trying to get them to harrass you.

At the police station, they will do whats needed to be done, and if what they are saying is threatening your life, like it was mine, then they could get a criminal record.

Good Luck and God Bless. :D

Save the harassing email/conversations. Don't instigate however (i.e. don't engage them in conversation or reply to the emails except once- to tell them to stop). Try reorting/blocking if it's aol (or whatever). If the problems escalates or does not end, especially if it becomes a problem outside of the internet, take the evidence to the police to inquire about a restraining order.

It depends on the type of harrassment. If you feel threatened then save all conversations with the person, or save however form of how your being harrassed. Then report that person. Take it to the local police, or if it's on a website report it to that website. Many things can be done, and if it is bad enough that person could even get time in jail. Just report it to the police if its bad, dont even wait for the website to do something about it.

hey. on what program are you being harrassed? is it on AIM. if it is, then you can block them. if it is on email, then the best thing to do is to delete all of the emails and report it to someone like a friend or parent. hope this helps!! :] ♥ ♥ ♥
