VixenDark answered Monday May 29 2006, 2:34 pm: ^^ Hun, I'm fatter than you. ^^
Any form of exercise would help, but I know most girls tend to focus on legs and abs.
Toning your legs is easy. Cycling, walking, jogging, pretty much any form of aerobic activity affects your legs. My personal favorites are cycling, martial arts, and DDR.
Crunches and pushups are the most common ab workouts.
Running and swimming are total body workouts. So try those also.
But you need to learn to be happy with your body at any size! I am the same height as you, and 15lbs heavier. So I can sympathize. Losing weight and getting fit is good. It will make you healthier in the long run. But don't feel miserable because you are a little overweight.
To feel more confident now, as losing weight can take a while, try different clothes that emphasize your best features. Put some makeup on, if you like to, and generally, try to look your best! Looking good will help you feel good. [ VixenDark's advice column | Ask VixenDark A Question ]
xokristabelle answered Monday May 29 2006, 12:18 pm: Cardio (aerobic exercise) for an hour each day, 3-5 days a week (your goal should be five, but start with three if you're really out of shape). This could mean- dancing, jogging, rollerblading, biking, swimming, most sports, fast walking, etc. (You might need to build up to that...so don't be worried if you can 't do a full hour at first.) 3 days a week, streching and various exercises. Do some searching online for exercises that target the specific area you want to look better. Again, build up slowly.
Meals...5 !small! meals a day has been proven to be healthier than 3 big meals a day. Breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner. (no before bed snack). If you can't live without dessert, have something small with lunch. Avoid junk food and try to pack your own meals...lots of fruits and veggies...The way most people lose weight is by cutting down on drinks. The average american consumes 50% of their calories in drinks. Mineral water with fresh fruit juice instead of soda, try to avoid storebought fruit juices, sodas, smoothies, premixed chocolate milk, and sugary drinks like Starbuck's.
orphans answered Sunday May 28 2006, 10:10 pm: yea your like 20 pounds over weight. be ready to devote about a month or two to getting down to a 110 if you are lucky (110 is thin, 120 avg) you should bike 1 hour a day, run 30 minutes a day, and after you lose about 10 pounds (in otherwords about 2 weeks) start swimming laps. also dont eat sugar and less carbss [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]
CiNdYLoUwHoO answered Sunday May 28 2006, 10:08 pm: Cardio. Cardio. Cardio. It's the best way to shed the pounds. Try running 4-5 days a week and swimming 2-3 days a week. You can also put dancing into the equation. Also, make sure you eat healthy. Trade the junkfood for the fruits and veggies and you'll loose the weight in no time. Good luck and hope this helps.
