Hair...

Question Posted Tuesday May 23 2006, 12:06 pm

Okay, so I dye my hair a lot. Well, I havn't cut it all year, and its still the same length and I think its gotten shorter. I straighten it with a wet/dry straightner when its wet and I wash it once or twice a week. How do I get my hair to grow faster? B/C apparently all the crap I put it through is why its so short.

I rate high! Thanks in advance.

I seriously don't know how to make your hair grow longer, but only washing it once or twice a week is just plain gross..not to mention how greasy it probably gets from using all that "crap".

Well, i seriously think that you should try not washing it only once or twice a week, but wash it every day, because washing it less and having it grow faster is as myth!
Also, you might want to try the blow dryer for a little while to straighten it, until it gets healthy again!
Well, i hope that i have helped!

hey, well from experience ive learned that letting your hair grow for 48y64398 years is not the answer. every month get a trim. get like a half of an inch or a little less. also dont dye your hair so much. just use pantene pro v brunnete expressions. it brings out the natural highlights in your hair. if you have red or blonde hair they have those colors too. also wet/dry straighteners are the worst kinds for your hair. just get a dry one. cait♥♥

You can't make your hair grow faster. Perhaps if you stopped doing stuff to it, it wouldn't deteriorate. Also, you could get extensions.

when your hair gets damaged, you get split ends... and over time your split ends get bigger and bigger. when you straighten split ends, your hair often breaks off, which would cause it to seem the same lenght or shorter than normal. there is no real way to have your hair grow longer faster... but you can prevent split ends which will keep your hair healthy. and if you hair is healthy.. it won't break off.. so over time, your hair can get longer. [it will look a lot better too] *DO NOT straighten your hair when it is wet!!!* it's horrible for your hair. [buy a heat protectant to spray in your hair before you straighten it.
if you want to get longer hair really quicky.. you can go to your local salon and get hair extentions.. which are really harmful for your hair because of the glue they use to secure it in your hair. but it looks really good.

There really isn't any way to make your hair grow faster, but I worry because you said that you haven't cut it all year, yet you style it and use lots of products. Because of all that, your hair probably has significant damage and could benefit from a trim to even it up and get rid of the dead ends. You are suppossed to get a trim every 4-8 weeks, depending on your style. Maybe that's all you need to give your hair some shape.
