when i was younger i got strep every few weeks, sometimes sooner than that. It doesnt mean that you need your tonsils taken out. I still have strep throat more often than most people do but i still have my tonsils. They told me when i was younger if i kept getting it like once every few weeks then they might have to take them out but i still have it often and they havent taken them out yet. So...hopefully everything will work out for ya.
hope this helped!!

nope. usually if you get strep or viral infections a lot, then you would probably need them removed.

I had been getting strep consistently from ages 14-17, about 3 times a year. My doctor never recommended removing my tonsils. I haven't had strep since. My best guess is that my body finally got over it.

My suggestion is to wait it out. I did, and I still have my tonsils to show for it.

Yes. My friend got them twice within a year and it kept coming back so he just got them removed. If you dont want to have pain anymore then you should do it. If not, it might come back and you'll have to deal with the pain all over again.

Maybe. However, you don't have to worry. They won't take your tonsils out now. If you get strep two or three more times, they'll probably consider it though. Do your best to keep healthy (get enough sleep, eat right, exercise normally, take vitamins, ect). Also, the strep might not have fully been cured from last time, so maybe its just coming back. Just make sure you take your antibiotics, and you should be fine. I hope this helps and feel better.
