Question Posted Thursday April 13 2006, 7:03 pm

I'm 5'4 and about 145-160 lbs. Verrry fat in my opinion but i don't really look THAT bad other than that. I was wondering if it's possible to lose about 25 lbs by August 19th or around there? If so, how. Please be specific on good && bad foods && excersizes (how many, how long, etc.) Also, does anybody know any REALLY good acne creams? Thank you soo much <3333

Some advice on acne, stay away from any greasy foods (pizza, chips, etc.) and wash your face every morning and night. (even more if possible) If you like fish (especially salmon) that type of food is amazing for your complexion. Also make sure whatever makeup (if you wear a lot of makeup) you use is hypoalergenic as wearing anything that your alergic to (even slightly alergic)or that just irritates you skin can double the amount of blemishes that "pop up" weekly. Also, make sure you always avoid sleeping with makeup on!
As for weight loss tips, i have a few from past experience struggling with my own weight (i'm 5'7 and weigh 148") Make sure not to go on any crazy diets (like eating peanut buter sandwiches for a month!) Stick to what you know will work, the two basics. Eating healthy and excercising regularly. Start out slow, don't decide to eliminate all bad food and become a fitness freak. Remember to loose weight and keep it off you have to make a lifestyle change. Focus on being healthy and not on being "skinny" or you'll just make yourself miserable. Also remember loosing weight doesn't happen overnight. Expect to loose 2-4 lbs. the first week your "dieting" and expect weight loss to slow down after that. Don't weigh yourself obsessivly or stand in front of the mirror staring at yourself either! You can weigh yourself once every two weeks, record your weight, and i promise you'll see progress if you stick to your diet and excercise.
Dieting: Watch you calorie intake your meals should even out to about 325-425 calories, and you should have one or two HEALTHY snacks a day (Fruit, a nutrigrain bar, yogurt, etc.) If your really watching your calories try to even out at around 1,500 a day. Remember to eat lots of vegatbles, and not a lot of bread. Look for things that are fat free or low fat. Drink skim milk or two percent instead of whole. Eat wheat bread instead of white. Put extra lettuce on a hamburger (not one that you got from mcdonalds, you'll definatly want to avoid fastfood, like it's poison. Did you know that in one fast food sticky bun there are 2,000 calories! That's astronomical! You actually have to plan out how to get that much fat into such a small pastry!) Read articles on websites from the south beach diet or weight watchers. (weight watchers is an excellent diet that keeps you healthy and gives you a set plan and point system, i recomend checking it out if you aren't disciplined enough to diet on your own.) Find out recipes that are healthy and easy, o yeah and avoid anything fried! (By the way sushi is great for you and almost no fat at all. and celery actually burns calories, put some peanut butter on celery or on an apple, that makes a great snack. Remember to never stop drinking water, at least six cups a day! When your body doesn't get enough water it starts to retain water... making you feel bloated and swolen. Drinking a lot of water can keep you 2-4 pounds slimmer than if you stay in a semi-dehydrated state constantly. And you need to eat to loose weight the healthy way, if you stop eating your metabolism slows down. Also make sure to eat breakfast, even if it's something small, it is especially inmportant to get you metabolism going in the morning. You loose less weight if you don't eat breakfast. Also, set up a "break" day once a week were you can treat yourself to all the yummies you missed out on! (Please, don't go crazy though, it is quite possible to do a whole lot of damage in one day. Don't make every meal an enormous binge on fattening foods. Eat a healthy breakfast, then because it's your break day you can eat 5-6 bagel bites with lunch... a nutra-grain bar for a snack, a chicken salad for dinner, and maybe a piece of cake after dinner. NOT 20 bagel bites, and 4 pieces of cake!) But be careful not to add on "one more day" to your little weekly delights. Lastly, avoid sitting infront of the T.V. and eating, people don't realize how much they munch while sitting like mindless zombies in front of the bright, shiny box. And if you absolutly have to munch on something don't take a whole box of cheezeits and proceed to consume them all! Poor some in a cup, eat those, asses if your still hungry or just bored. If your just bored go find something to do other than eating, staring at a wall can be more enticing than gaining weight sometimes. If you are still hungry by all means continue munchin UNTIL your full (and not stuffed to the point of wretching, just comfortable, and not feeling like you'd die if you didn't eat!) Don't eat just to eat, only when your hungry!
Excercise:
Excercise is and asset! Join a gym if possible, then you can get on a treadmill and see exactly how many calories you burn. Don't exercise maniacally every day. You will burn up all your will to be healthy! (unless of course you happen to be one of those people who has to run 10 miles every day or they lock themselves up and cry hysterically, it's best to avoid such frowned upon crying experiences.) Pick 3 days atleast, and go jogging. Train yourself to go further and further each time. The more calories you burn off the easier it will be to loose weight. I'm a bit lax myself on the excercise area (i'm ahamed to say" but i'm working on it!) For more extensive information on exercise try calling a gym or visiting just once to get some tips from those avid exercisers! For me running is the most effective weight loss mechanism, it is actually fun (sometimes) to! Especially if you have music to run to! Give it a try, find your niche. And if you just can bring yourself to exercise, any progress is good right?
I hope this helps!

For starters, STOP EATING FAST FOOD! That is a source of most of the fat in America. Avoid starchy food, like poptarts, pasta, rice, potato products that have been really dressed up (meaning grease, sour cream, that sort of thing). Drink A LOT of water; when your body does not get enough water, it stores up the water that you do drink, making you look fat. When you drink enough water, it releases the water and makes you skinnier. do lots of crunchys and sit ups and walk or run. Now stay away from pop, grease, and chocolate, but mostly pop for your acne and try useing clearasal altra, and pro active. If you want to go the natural rout, you can try tea tree oil which you can find at any health food store. Thanks get back to me.

Cut out all sugary drinks and food. switch to ALL Water and you wont even NEED any acne medicine..i wasnt doing to great in that area either and i started drinking ALOT of water and its almost all gone. It also helps with losing weight. i work out every day for 60-90 min. you can work out 3 times a week for 60 min. and see great results. good things to eat are..breakfast-oatmeal with 1 peice of wheat bread, cereal, light yogurt and fruit. lunch-grilled cheese (wheat bread and 2%milk fat cheese), salads, veggie burgers (garden burger..is a good brand) sandwiches (lean meat on wheat bread with NO mayo) for dinner same thing as lunch. make sure to have fruit as snacks. dont eat after 630. for snacks have popcorn (with not alot of butter) pretezels..baked chips. you can def do it.! good luck!

EDIT: Yes send me something to my inbox anytime!

I lost 25 lbs in four months by doing a low carb diet. Which doesnt require any exercise. If your intrested in knowing more about it, message me.

If you cut out sugary drinks & snacks, you'll actually lose a lot of weight on that alone because sugar is bad. Just read food labels to make sure how much everything is.

Walking everyday for 20 minutes is not that hard but you see equal results as running!

I'm hoping you consider the low carb diet though, it's awesome.

It is completely possible to lose the weight by August. However, you have to completely focus to lose that amount of weight. I would suggest eating oatmeal or eggbeaters with added veggies for breakfast, a piece of fruit for a morning snack, a sandwhich with wheat bread, lettuce, tomatos, mustard and turkey or tuna for lunch, a fat free yogurt for a snack, and veggies with a piece of meat ( chicken, fish, turkey or lean steak- nothing breaded, only grilled or steamed) for dinner. Also, try to avoid carbs after 4pm and don't eat anything after dinner. For exercise I would run an average of 5 miles a day 3-5 times a week and swim/kickboard 100 laps in the morning for really good leg toning as well. For defined muscles do 20 lunges on each leg 4 times so that you do a total of 80 lunges. Then do the same with squats. Also do daily situps if you can. This is a great exercise routine that helped me lose 15 pounds in 4 weeks. As far as acne creams are concerned you're welcome to refer to my column where I've answered this question in the past. Basically you want to wash with any face wash with 2.0 % salicilic acid and put a daily benzol peroxide ( I like 10% if you can find it in a face cream- try oxy or clearasil) on the spots themselves. Oxy does a great benzol peroxide that is flesh toned so you can also use it as foundation. Also, when your skin is cleared up and you have lost the weight, don't forget the finishing touches. Have your nails done in a nice french manicure with square acrylics, wear your hair down and have it highlighted or dyed (I like platinum blonde) , and go for a spray tan- mystic tan is awesome. Also make sure to do your makeup nicely- smoky eyes and pale lips are always a winner. Hope this helps.

XOXKAYLA answered Thursday April 13 2006, 7:22 pm:
my opinion how to lose weight is to do sit ups... like 30 a day 2 times a day( in the morning and at night). and if you want to know any other good excersices i suggest picking up a seventeen magazine... they have good exercises in there. or going to seventeen.com. what you should stay away from is bread, candy, butter, soda, ect. anything with alot of sugar. DONT STARVE YOURSELF... i did it before and i thought it would work but after you get tired of doing it and then you start eating again it makes you fatter. drink alot of water. eat fruits( bananas, apples, grapes, ect.) and vegies. very simple.

now about acne cream i suggest you use proactiv... it works well for me and i bought some for my boyfriend and he has alot of acne but its going away really fast. its not expensive.. 19.95 or something like that unless you get all the extra stuff.. which you wont need. just try it for 30 days and if it dont work send it back. other then that i use clean and clear morning burst.

hope i helped.
&&heart's;;kayla =)
