It doesn't nessicarely make you fat, but theoretically it can. Think of it this way. If you eat food when you are awake, walking around the house, hainging out with friends, and even watching TV, you are burning the calories from that food. When you sleep, many of your body systems stop functioning (picture putting you dryer on energy saver mode), and not nearly as many calories are burned. So, instead of these calories going to your muscles for them to be able to move you about, they are instead being stored as lipids. These lipids are the fat deposites in your body.

the calories that you eat up when you have a midnight snack are really bad for ya because you don't get to burn the calories at all whatsoever, so yeah. [x] Lej

well, some people say it does because you are not burning calories when you are sleeping! I've heard others say that your metabolism is at it's fastest while you sleep! So go figure! I eat after dinner all the time, and I am far from fat! I just try to stick to fruits and veggies though, and I drink a lot of water too! I think doing that is fine, but eating cake and ice cream an hour before going to bed every night will probably make you gain a few pounds!

they are both bad for you because you dont realyl burn off those calories because you are sleeping.. that is why most people say dont eat after 7 so that gives you 2-3+ hours to burn that off before you go to bed. also mid night snacks are terrible! if you are hungry then either trying some veggies at night or have a big meal around 7 or maybe after your snack do 15 mins on a tread mill or something

they say its not good to eat anything past around 8 o'clock because the food is not burned off by energy since you are not doing anything active until the next morning. Its ok to eat around that time but some people believe it will make you gain weight, I dont believe it though, but thats jus my opinion. hope i helped! ♥dAnieLLe
