scary movies

Question Posted Friday March 10 2006, 11:40 pm

I love to watch scary movies. My question is, how do you go to sleep after watching one? I just finished watching a REALLY scary movie and I'm really scared! How do I go to sleep without thoughts of the movie?

Watch something cheezy on TV. Or what i do is close my eyes, and imagine a ladybug or something happy, and eventually i fall asleep thinking about it, haha. ;]

Hope i helped

It's all in your head. Nothing is going to randomly happen on that very night when you watched that scary movie. But if it seriously takes you a long time to get over a scary movie (like me.. haha) then watch a 'happy movie' that would make you laugh. it works for me, hope it works for you! <3

I get the same way. I had to sleep at my boyfriend's house after The Ring and it took me HOURS to sleep after The Grudge!! Horrifying!!

The best thing I can suggest is to make sure you put on a comedy or romantic comedy almost straight after. This will hopefully relax your brain into thinking of something nicer.

I also find it helps if you have any films which feature the people in the horror film doing something better. The only reason I was able to deal with The Ring was because I remembered seeing the girl in it appear at an awards ceremony. With The Grudge, I remembered Sarah Michelle Geller kicking the crap out of some stupid vampires.

If all that fails, stay up all night, with the TV on loud, friends in the room and all the lights on!!

I love scary movies, and i do get scared. So what i do is put on my TV and watch music videos or somthing funny to laugh at. So that your thinking of the movie your watching now, and not then. Just tell yourself that the movie isnt true and it would never happen to me.

Sorry if that dosent help.. I tried :]

Good question, here's some tips :you can either try as hard as you can to thnik about something or someone else, listen to calming celtic music,(that always works for me and my friends) or wait until your so extremly tired that your body will just naturally go to sleep by itself, but you'll be very tired the next day but at least you would have went to sleep, hope this helps

sleep with your parents. aha i`m kidding. just get to tired that as soon as you hit the bed you don`t have time to get caught up in thoughts and you just fall asleep. and if that doesn`t work just try thinknig about other things. sure easier said than done but if you make up your own little stories in your head you`ll forget all about the movie.

Good question!

Usually what helps me is to keep the T.V on all night and keep the lights on until I can fall asleep. Like watching a favorite movie of yours, or corny T.V shows on Nick@Nite.

Sometimes reading a magazine could help, reading a book could take your mind off of it. Listening to the radio if you like that.

What would probably help is keeping the lights on all night, because when the room darkens, that is probably what triggers your mind to get scared. And then, you'll get used to the fact that theres nothing to be afriad of in your room a few days after.

What I usually do after watching a movie that really scared me is, I will sit in my room and watch something funny. Whether it be a movie, or T.V. it doesn't matter. But that gets me thinking about the funny and not the scary. Hope I helped!

I love to watch scary movies also.

Which one did you watch by the way?

Anyways, you just have to know that that movie isn`t real. They are just made to entertain you. You can watch a funny movie now to get your mind off of it.

What I also do is since I have like a closet in front of my bed, I get really creeped out & think that someone is inside there[sorry if i just creeped you out more..], so I just leave it all the way open & sometimes sleep with a night light. I know it sounds dumb & childish, but psh oh well. The nightlight works. ♥

Feedback:

Lol i love that movie. Anyways, you might already know that OBVIOUSLY the old guy won`t come & get you since he`s dead [hahahaha] & the girl, we`ll, I think you can beat her up. :]
