You need to do cardio to burn the fat. There are tons of dvds out there to buy for that. Anything from Tae Bo to 30 minute mile workouts. All of them work great if you commit to them.
Also, watch what you eat. Cut the number of times you eat fast food/snacks like cupcakes, chips, candy, etc/red meat/white breads/drink pop and so on. It's amazing how much weight you'll lose by doing that.
Be sure to eat breakfast each morning as well. It'll kick start your metabolism.
When you lose the weight, concentrate on keeping yourself toned with something like pilates or yoga. The Yoga Now program (4 DVDs and a meal plan) is amazing. It combines Yoga and cardio to tone and keep the fat off. You can get it at Target for around $30 to $35. I gain my weight exactly like you do and that's what I use to keep myself in shape [ Vanity's advice column | Ask Vanity A Question ]
xoMarisox answered Monday February 27 2006, 4:17 pm: Every night before you go to bed, do 20 sit ups. Do that for a whole week. Then, the next week do 25 and each week keep on adding five. When you get home from school, eat a sandwich, a fruit, or vegtables instead of junk food. Work hard in gym class and befoe you know it you will lose weight!
