erythisis answered Thursday March 23 2006, 10:30 am: I agree that neutering will stop future heats, but your cat may be now used to acting like it if she's gone through a few and doing so makes some cats gain weight easier. You may need to keep an eye on her for training not to spray if that's an issue. The best method may be a water spritzer (I've heard a little citrus extract helps) to get her when she does it, but be sure not to aim for the face (that may work, but the point isn't to be cruel). isis answered Saturday March 18 2006, 7:20 am: Get her spayed as soon as she off heat. It will stop any chance of her roaming and getting lost, producing kittens and developing uterine cancer. You'll be doing her a favour and you should get it done as early as possible to avoid any possible complications that can occur in older cats with anaesthesia. NinjaNeer answered Tuesday February 28 2006, 1:17 am: I used to work in a veterinary clinic, and the one thing the vets would always say is that if you're going to get a cat spayed, do it as soon as possible! Each heat the cat goes through makes the spaying surgery a little bit more difficult. [ NinjaNeer's advice column | Ask NinjaNeer A Question ]
ThugGirl041790 answered Monday February 27 2006, 7:31 pm: You can`t do anything about this but you can get your cat spayed and then your cat wouldn`t be in heat anymore or ever again.. It costs a bit of money tho..♥Dez [ ThugGirl041790's advice column | Ask ThugGirl041790 A Question ]

Juicygirl answered Sunday February 26 2006, 7:24 pm: My friend's pet is big enough for a regular diaper that she cut a hole in for a tail, but it has to be pulled up often.
Kr4z3y_Ch3lly answered Sunday February 26 2006, 7:19 pm: well i know for sure you cant stop it. or make it shorter.
so basically just let her do what she needs to.
what we did when our cat was in heat was put her in the bathroom with a big cat bed with a bunch of towels and stuff.
so try that.
try keeping her in one location so she doesnt get anything everywhere!
also get her spayed. like..soon.
unless you guys wernt going to. then your gunna have to deal with that all the time!
but yea get her spayed. itll be much easyer on everyone!
good luck. :]
honu22 answered Sunday February 26 2006, 6:28 pm: The only prevention is spaying your cat. You can't stop her from being like this, and I'm pretty sure you can't change anything (including how long she's in heat). All you can do is just make sure she's indoors and monitored to prevent any "accidents", although I stongly suggest you get her spayed because she'll be a better pet that way.
