has it changed during different years?
if as a freshman you got good grades and then as a sophomore your doing poorly it could just be because its different classes and a transition thats tough for you thats what happened to me

or is it changing over marking periods?
if in the beginning you had great grades but now durring the middle/end your doing bad it could be because the work and the teachers are getting harder on you. you might have to try harder later in the year.

it also could be that your juggling too much at one time so maybe you should keep doing what your doing but concentrate on school more or choose maybe one or two things to stop doing until you boost your grades then you can try to pick those other things back up again

If you aren`t more focused on your grades then yea they`ll slip a bit.. But if you focus more on your gardes and put the other activites on the side you`ll probably notice a difference.. ♥Dez

Try focusing more on school than on other activities. Stay after a lot with your teachers to review. I wasnt doing to great in school earlier, but I brought my grades up by studying more and getting afterschool help. You might think its a waste of time but it'll help a lot. Good Luck. Hope I helped!

It sounds like your focus is off and that you're time management is out of balance?!

OK, this is what you do.....

Take some time..... stop everything.... sit with yourself..... take some long, deep, slow breaths until you find your objectivity again. Or to put it another way.... try to see you and your life as others might see it.

What is it they would see about your life that might be interfering with scholastic endeavor? There has to be something that has taken you off course just a bit.

I'm not a young person anymore, but I too lived the years you're currently expriencing and I know how easy it is to get off just a little bit. So, it really is pretty simple.... just step back, take a real, close, discerning look at your current situation and all the choices that brought you and your grades to this moment.

It is up to you to do something about it, because I doubt that anyone else has had anything to do with it. Take charge! Make better choices, manage your time to your best/highest benefit and you will garner rewards to come.

Get enough sleep!!!!!

Eat anything but junk foods!!!!!

And get enough exercise!!!!!

Hope this helps, I know there are solutions that will bring you back on track!!! My years of life experience tell me so! Been there done that!

Take care and it may not get back on track as quickly as it slid off.... but don't give up, and do make better choices!

It can be all of those reasons!! More than likely, each and every one of these things are causing your grades to slip. Maybe you're spending too much time on these activites and not so much time on schoolwork?? Whatever the reason is, make sure to move some things around. School comes first. Education is very important, so be sure to spend a decent amount of time studying, doing homework EVERY night, and paying attention in class. This way, you should be fine. And, if you find yourself having no time for anything else but school right now, then so be it. One thing at a time. This is your first and top priority right now. Good luck hun.

hey there are ususally many reasons for grade dropping. it very well may be the rockband. having your own band is ver time consuming. maybe if you write the songs have your other members start writting to. also if you listen to music during homework time or studyhall you might want to lay off the music that could be the problem. or maybe you jsut simply dont understnad the work. in that case ask a teacher for help or stay after school. cait ♥

It all depends on how many extra-curriculars you were doing when you were getting your straight A's. Your question doesn't say whether or not you were doing the band before. Grade changes rarely occur with true suddeness:there is usually some background, some change in the way your scheduel runs, that has built up over time. In your case, you could well have become more absorbed in your rock band-music(especially when you write it yourself) takes up a lot of intellectual and emotional energy. Sport and band are less likely to be to blame since they are presumably school run activities, purpose built not to intefere with grades. In fact, many schools bar you from certain sports should your grades drop below a certain level. Thus my advice would be to look to the rock band(Sorry!)
Another possibility is, of course, that the work is simply getting harder; if this is the case, then talk to your teachers about it. They might have helpful suggestions as to how to manage a more demanding courseload, plus there is always what we in Britain call supported study(study hall).
Good luck!
