I used to have this boyfriend my parents hated to death. He moved all the way across the United States (I live in California) and emailed me his new phone number. While my parents were at a meeting, I called him and talked only like a minute since he had to go to a school event. Will his number show up on the phone bill? If so, my parents will see it and become suspicious, because we almost never call people out of state. I have a Panasonic phone with caller ID if it helps.
Can anyone give me any good excuses for when my parents round on me?

My advice would be that you don't lie. My teenage years and come and gone and if I've learned anything, it's been that somehow, parents will always find out what you're up to and if you try to lie, it'll just make things that much worse when the truth finally comes to light.
Just remember, if you have to lie then you're doing something wrong and you know it. Point blank. Parents don't take well to that. [ Vanity's advice column | Ask Vanity A Question ]

I think that you should tell your parents the truth about how you only spoke for about a minute cuz he had to go to a school event. you could also tell them how you didn't call him, he called you. Just be honest with your parents about what went on and i am sure they will understand.
Good Luck! Hope this helps! [ Jessie1218's advice column | Ask Jessie1218 A Question ]

So maybe you should just tell your parents something like that. They will believe you, trust me it happened to me...Hopefully this helped. KiSSxMYxPEARLS answered Saturday February 4 2006, 8:43 pm: If your call ANYONE from your cell phone, it`ll automatically show up on your phone bill. It doesn`t matter if you just called for a minute.
Maybe you should use your house phone from now on. If you guys make calls frequently on your home phone, they will not even bother to check the bill for that..I don`t even know if there is a bill for your house phone..there probably is; but my parents make calls from my house phone ALOT ; so they hardley ever check that. I don`t have any excuses to say to them..soo i`m sorry. [ KiSSxMYxPEARLS's advice column | Ask KiSSxMYxPEARLS A Question ]
Kays answered Saturday February 4 2006, 8:41 pm: well i dont know if this helps but... you could tell her you are doing an extra credit thing and you have to call a pen pal and ask them what their school is like. and if she asks where you got the number tell her you got it from the speech or english teacher for an essay. i hope that helped you.
