Hair falling out

Question Posted Wednesday February 1 2006, 9:17 pm

I was wondering
Is it true if you blow dry your hair and straigthen it like everday that by the time your 25 your hair will fall out?
I usually do that everyday except for on weekends.
Will my hair fall out?

I've never heard that before. But excessice heat drying will cause your hair to cook and break more easily. I'm pretty sure that hair loss is genetic or caused by eating certain chemicals. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

It probably won't fall out but it WILL make your heair dryu and weak. Try not to blow dry and straighten it every day - if you really hate your untamed hair then tie it back or do what I do - which is to tie it up in a bun, no one can tell then! :P

It won't make you hair fall out. However, it will make your hair more prone to damage, breakage, and split ends. If you can, try to allow your hair to air dry and only straighten it when necessary. If you're not able to do that, I highly recommend you invest in a good quality shampoo and conditioner for processed or damaged hair.

I would say no.

Because... that's weird.

You'll have split ends and dry hair... but it'll be there. It might be a LITTLE thinner.. but it's still there.

It's really better if you only wash your hair every other day and let your scalps natural oils heal itself. Use a heavy moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.

If at all possible, try to only blow dry or only straighten your hair.

Talk to the person who cuts your hair about some ways to keep your hair healthy under that much heat and stress. :)

Well, I'll be 24 in July and so far it seems to all be intact. lol! Nah, your hair won't fall out but the ends will get brittle (split ends) if your not using something to absorb the heat.Try something like Dove smooth and sleek or anything that says flat iron friendly.

your hair will probably fall out, but if it doesn't fall out, then it will become very thin and dry.

Yes it is true. Most of your hair will and you will have VERY VERY thin hair.
It is not healthy to straightenn/blowdry your hair EVERY day.
I used to and my hair got so bad so try to reduce the amount of straightening/blowdrieing.
You can straighten your hair once every week or even like two times a month.
Scrunch your hair it looks super cute if you do it just right!
