15m christain.

It may be a sin, it may be not. when it comes to the realm of sin, well.... I do not consider it a sin. It is the habit of masturbation that is a sin. I have not read anywhere in the bible about masturbation being a sin. I have heard that it is wrong in a quote from the CCC. (cathecism of the catholic church).

THe guilt feeling only came that last time, right?
Before you actually felt satisfied right?

well, you could masturbate again if you want to, but you probably will have a sense of guilt about it from now on. SO it won't be fun as it used to.

You may cave in now and again, and you might get over it. Similiar story caught me about six months ago.

I always had a guilty feeling afterwards even though i was going long stretches without doing it. but i really stopped aboout six weeks ago, I almost feel no need to go back. I may feel an urge but i fight it.

After a while it gets easy to fight.

Another advice person mentioned praying after you do it, that just makes you feel more guilty. Instead pray when you get an urge that you may be able to fight it.

Good Luck,

God will hear.

Is it normal to masturbate? Yes. Will you get over the guilt? Hopefully.

Don't pay any attention to people who are very up tight about this kind of thing; they generally have emotional and sexual insecurities to deal with, insecurities that you don't have. Don't feel guilty - there's nothing wrong with masturbation.

I've heard that in the bible it says masturbating is wrong and it's a sin. Not sure but i've heard that. But if your a really strong Christian, you should know that God will love you no matter what you do. Just because you masturbate it's not like he'll send you to hell. He'll forgive you. And you know that.

Woah.. anyways. Masturbate if you want. Maybe pray after you masturbate.. I don't know.

From a health standpoint yes masturbating is very healthy. I don't think you will need to do it so very much for the rest of your life and it also may be attributed to your increased hormone levels since youre still going through puberty. From a religious standpoint I guess its wrong but what can you do as a christian without it offending God anyway? Im Catholic by the way and not religious.

Christianity is a religion bent on sucking the joy out of life. There's tons of things that are supposely "sins" that nobody pays attention to, because they're not convenient scripture. People will tell you whatever is convenient in scaring the crap out of you.

Masturbation is self-love. Accept that it's a good thing, and you'll set yourself up for a positive sex life in the future. Masturbation guilt can easily lead to sexual repression in the future, which is condemning yourself to a lifetime of never knowing what it is to share good sex with a partner you care about.

Sort it out. Then dabble with your clit.

i heard that before too, and i think it's stupid. there's like a whole lot of things that are 'sins' but i don't think they should be sins because according to the bible, God made people, all people and their feelings included. which means when he created us, whatever it is that makes people want to masterbate, God gave us that. so if it's a sin, God shouldn't have given people hormones that make people wanna have sex and all that stuff. idk it might be a stupid answer .. maybe He wants us to fight it or something? haha idk. that's just my reasoning. hope i helped? =) ♥

Where did you see that masturbating is a sin? If you are going to say something like that then you need to have a scripture or something to go along with it.

Lying is a sin but we all do it.

Every sin is equal.

It's not a sin. It's very good for your physical and emotional health. The thing about the Bible is that it's been around for so long, a lot of people were able to add stuff to it. A group of fundamentalists put the masturbation thing in there because they were...well, they were kinda jerks. Actually, I read something about the first WASP settlers in America who as you know were very religious. There weren't that many of them, you see, and they were afraid that when men masturbated it would waste seed that was needed to impregnate the women and boost the population. They, bless their little ignorant souls, didn't know that sperm is pretty much mass produced and you can't run out of it. Their reasons for telling women not to masturbate were basically to keep us subservient to the men. Since everybody was so religious, they figured the best way to do this would be to say that God forbade it.

Anyway, there is more information at [Link](Mouse over link to see full location).

This is a really tricky question which seems to have many subquestions implied.

First of all, is it a sin? I am not a religious expert (though I do know a bit), and I concur with the interpretation of that religious person a few answers below mine. Yes it is.

Secondly, is it normal (to feel guilty)? As long as you perceive it as "wrong" you will feel guilty... so yes, its normal.

Third, will you get over it? I doubt that you will go through the rest of your life like this. I mean, you will at some point make a choice to either stop, or to continue. Either way, once your mind is made up the guilt will eventually go away.

Debating whether one should adhere to this, from a Christian point of view, is no different than to question the validity of the religion. Many people have a similar point of view to the first person who answered. This point of view is in my opinion flawed... you cannot pick and choose your rules, the religion is either acceptable in its entirety or not at all. If God made these rules not a single syllable is to be questioned. This is a choice you must make for yourself, and decide whether to abide by the rules or not.

From a strictly medical point of view (which is not particularly relevant here I know), masturbation is good for your health.

Good luck.

Oh btw, in case you were wondering, I am not religious.

I agree with Saturnmoonie. the commandments (yes, masterbating falls under the 6th) were from a verrryyy long time ago and now a days, people TRY to make them fit with society now. It used to be to support monogomy, now it rules out masturbating...see what I mean? Would you rather masturbate because you have raging hormones and urges or go have sex with someone you don't even care about because you have raging hormones and urges? Think about it...you'll be fine. what's the bigger sin...getting pregnant and aborting or masturbating? I've had several people tell me they feel guilty doing it... they do get over it so don't think you won't. It's normal to feel guilty...i guess. <3

Umm... I completely disagree with the person below me. The Bible says that sexual immorality is a sin. By this I mean that Having sex before you're married, masturbating, it's a sin. The Bible even says that Having sexual thoughts can lead to acting on those thoughts.

Now, kissing, in my opinion is not a sin. It depends on the person. Most people can kiss someone and not be in bed with them the next second.

Masturbating, on the other hand is a sin. When you masturbate you have sexual thoughts about someone. I myself have unfortunately masturbated before. I'm done however, because I want to be pure for God. It's up to you...

The reason you feel guilty is because now you know it's wrong and your consience is telling you so. So again, it's up to you.

SaturnMoonie answered Saturday January 14 2006, 7:47 am:
Well you know having sex before marriage is also a sin, so does that mean you're going to save yourself? Also, you're not supposed to kiss guys because it leads to taughts of sexual acts which is also a sin. Does that mean you're never going to kiss a boy? Look what I'm trying to say is, it's ok that you're a christian, and you follow relegion, but remember that the bible was written a LOOOOOONG time ago, things have changed, people have changed. It's completely ok for you to masturbate. Think about it this way, wouldn't you rather masturbate when you feel horny, than going out and sleeping with a guy when you're horny? Don't feel guilty, it's a natural thing, very healthy. You're not doing anything wrong, and you will not burn in hell for it.
