Take your cat to the vet and have it weighed. If your cat is really over weight the Vet may put it on a special diet food. Hills R/D is a great way to reduce your pets weight, but you can only get it with a prescription from your vet.

The best food to help your cat lose weight...
No food!
LOL Just kidding.

Ask your veterinarian what food would be best for your cat. The weight and age of your cat are both factors that determine what food is best.

Weight control food and buy him some toys to get him active! Cut down on treats, if you have been giving him any.

I would say IAMS

That's a really good food my cat eats it, and has lost about 2 pounds in the last 3 months... that's pretty good for a cat. haha, hope I helped.

Well a lot of people always say feed your cat cat food that's not true.
Try feeding him the following:
Cut fruit
Deer Park Water not fossit water
ETC

I used Science Diet dry food for my fat cat, and I started feeding him only once a day. A veterinarian would be able to help you pick the best food for your cat to lose weight, especially if it is a kitten or elderly cat.

Well, first stop feeding your cat wet food if you are. That's more fattening than the dry kind. And it goes alot faster than the dry kind. Go here for more info:

when my cat was fat, i refused to give him the canned food and only gave him dry food. I bought some kind of purina cat formula cat food and i sent him outside (hes an outside cat but he stays in our garage) everyday. and after about a couple months of that he lost A LOT of wieght so much that we had to put him back on the canned food.

~hope i helped
~plez rate
