will my coworker get fired? I have a coworker that didnt get any shifts for two weeks. I found out that she had been extremely rude to a customer (we work in clothing retail) so her hours were cut back. Well the boss decided to give her two shifts this week and guess what she was a NO SHOW both times!!! Me and the other girls think she did that because she was mad at the boss for not giving her any shifts for two weeks. Either that or she didnt know she had any shifts because she had two weeks of no work. But either way it was her responsbility to know if she was working or not.
My question is would that be grounds for her termination? I have a theory that after she was so rude to the customer that they didnt want to fire her but were hoping she would just go away, and by not giving her any work she would get mad and quit. I was actually surprised they gave her any more shifts at all. I asked if the boss was mad that she didnt show up and they said no.
What do you think?

Some bosses cut back on your hours to show you that you can't be rude to customer and then she wrote her in to two week. so that she could say that the boss just fired her. If she didn't show up that's her failt. She should of came in and checked to see if she was suppose to work. If she comes back the boss can tell her she's done. Amd the girl can't do anything about it. ]
Yeah, she'll probably get fired. And that's if she hasn't been already. Being rude to customers is bad enough. Skipping work? I don't see how they'd want to keep her working there. ]
No show is definitely grounds for immediate dismissal. My guess is that she is now fired.
She probably found another job or was giving this place the old middle finger. Whatever her reason, shes gone for good this time. :) ]
I am a manager and yes not showing to work is automatic termination--its called no call no show-granted they did not give her any shifts-it is her responsibility to see what her schedule is. She proboly found a new job and instead of properly terminating herself she went about it the way she wanted--but yes it is terms of termination. ]
Well I think that she should straighten up. Being rude to a customer should have gotten her fired. Thats good that she didnt get no work for 2 weeks because if she would have then she would feel more comfortable to do what she did again. ]
Yes, that is clearly grounds for termination. To have been rude to a customer... and then not show up to work AFTER that? Yeah, that's begging to be fired. ]
