is he embarrased of his true feelings for me?

Question Posted Thursday December 1 2005, 12:48 am

a guy that likes me that i'm friends with is always pretending not to know things about me when he really does. For example, he knows darn well how old I am and what day my birthday is but when he's in front of others he'll say, oh your (not my age) right? Or {when is your birtday?) He also treats me really bad when he's with his guy friends. He will ignore me, and when I talk to him him won't give me eye contact. But when he's alone with me he's sweet and attentive.
Why is he so afraid of what his friends think? Is it that he's embarrassed that he likes me?

Could be. Maybe you should talk to him about it, and ask why he does that. Guys, just like girls, have a funny way of expressing their true feelings for girls. Talking to him about the way you feel may help.

Well it seems t obe that he cares more of what his friends think---he has no respect for your feelings--or you--and if he cant treat you with the same sweetness and attentivness when his friends are around you definetly dont want to be with him--those are all red flags hun and if you were with him and something occurred and he needs to believe you--doesnt seem lik he would-also if he like you he shouldnt be embarrassed --his friends are more important--and thats typical guys for you but he has no repsect--you deserve better

Some guys are jerks. They want to show to their friends that they aren't wusses. He may be embarrassed to like you. A guy that treats you like that, is a guy that's not worth your time.

Yes. And he's worried what his friends think. He's a weak individual. If you're kind of ugly, he doesn't want to be made fun of for liking you.

Alot of guys are like tha so your not the only one. Guys are pretty weird at times but what I think is that he wants to show off in front of his guy friends. You know like to make them think that he really doesnt need you but inside of him he really does. It all just an act that he puts on only when his guy friends are their but He really does feel something for you if he's sweet when only both of you are together.

well i dono but its a guy thing. they care what their friends thing and they try to act tough so it looks like hes a little scared to show that he likes a girl. Try talking to him about it when you're alone.
