i was absent one day at school for a lab, and i'm going to bring in a doctor's note for documentation. i was just wondering if school officials actually call up the doctor to verify that i came in? my doctor actually just left town two days ago. i heard there is a confidentiality rule with a job, but i don't know if it goes through with higher education...i just don't want my professor to think that i'm bs-ing it.

Don't worry about a thing just as long as the doctor signed his signature on the note your safe to go. And do you know how many people are in your school they don't have time to verify that every student is telling the truth. Plus they know that doctors are very busy and even if they called they's call the office not the doctor personally. If the school cared that much which i highly doubt they would talk to his seretary and see if you really had an appointment that day so don't worry.
cjAdvice answered Wednesday November 16 2005, 9:24 pm: Dont worry about it! :D the peoples at the doctors office will just tell whoever calls that they are out for a few day's and to try back then. so you have nothing to worry about! hope this helps you!
ThugGirl041790 answered Wednesday November 16 2005, 7:17 pm: No they most likely aren`t going to call your doctor.. They just need the note to verify you was sick so they don`t take you to you to court its considered excused cuz you have a doctors note.. ♥ Dez [ ThugGirl041790's advice column | Ask ThugGirl041790 A Question ]
