I have a question for all you people who bake. When I was baking cookies, the top parts came out fine, but the bottom was just really gooey. Did i do something wrong? And if i did, can you explain what i should do right? They were chocolate chip cookies by the way.

brokenagain answered Friday November 11 2005, 7:23 pm: sounds like 1 you did not bake them long enough. what i do is if it says to bake on 350 degress i put to 325 and if it says bake 12-12 minutes i bake 15 to 20 mintues. they get better b/c they are baking slower and it gets done evenly. i love to bake if you need anything let me know [ brokenagain's advice column | Ask brokenagain A Question ]

sizzlinmandolin answered Friday November 11 2005, 5:42 pm: It sounds like this was caused by the pans that you were using to bake the cookies on. Try using different cookie trays and if that doesn't work it may be something with the recipe. Try a different recipe and if they still do that it's probably your oven. I hope everything works out and good luck! [ sizzlinmandolin's advice column | Ask sizzlinmandolin A Question ]
happy-helper answered Friday November 11 2005, 5:37 pm: Don't worry about the rating! :)
I'm taking GCSE Food, you probably added too many chocolate chips. With cookies especially, it's vital you get the ingredients perfect, more than 2g over will ruin the recipe. Also, cook until all is golden brown and firm to the touch!
Better luck next time! :)

askERN answered Friday November 11 2005, 5:36 pm: You probably needed them to be in the oven longer it helps if you stick a toothpick or something in there and if the dough doesnt stick they are done.

rainbowNsunshine91 answered Friday November 11 2005, 5:14 pm: I'm sorry, I haven't baked in a long time. But the last time I baked chocolate chip cookies, they were soft all over. I think that the bottom wasn't completly done. Here's a website on how to make some good chocolate chip cookies (SORRY THAT I COULDN'T HELP MORE) www.foodnetwork.com (if that website is wrong, just tell me by adding extra info) [ rainbowNsunshine91's advice column | Ask rainbowNsunshine91 A Question ]
