Hey, I'm a fourteen year old female, and I have been smoking for around eight months. I'm sure that there are a huge quantity of smokers here, or people who know about smoking, and I have a few questions I would like answered, please.
1. Which is worse for you, cigars or cigarrettes?
2. [for the smokers] How old were you when you started?
3. Does smoking have a major impact on your voice, or is it only slight?
4. Recently, I tried to stop, and I threw a bitch fit at my friends.. I just went crazy! Was that an impact of the cigs? Am I addicted?
iluvhim answered Friday November 4 2005, 9:38 pm: cigars, dont smoke, major, yes it mightve been the cigs and you dont sound addicted, but if you dont stop soon you will become addicted. [ iluvhim's advice column | Ask iluvhim A Question ]

karenR answered Thursday November 3 2005, 9:39 pm: 1. They are both bad for you. Supposedly cigars are better because you don't inhale. But they are still not good for you.
2.18
3.I have heard it makes your voice hoarse. I can't honestly say its true.
4. Could be. Nicotine is one of the hardest habits to kick. I think a nasty attitude is probably one of the withdrawal symptoms.
I do think your friends would understand the attitude. And yes, you are probably addicted.
But, I advise you to quit if that is what you want to do. Easier now than it will be later. :) [ karenR's advice column | Ask karenR A Question ]
urmomsachltcvrddnt answered Thursday November 3 2005, 8:40 pm: Quit now, the longer you smoke the harder it is to stop. I started to smoke when I was in my early teens and am now in my 40's. You can easily become addicted even after only a couple of months. Smoking effects not only your voice but your lungs, heart and blood vessels. I am a nurse and I have seen people who have quit 10 years ago suffer the effects of smoking. No matter what you smoke they are all bad. If you need help ask your doctor, he can offer advice on what you can do, it's hard, but you can do it if you try.
I got my mother to answer that because i don't really know that much about it. She's so cool, i know.
ankeagle14 answered Thursday November 3 2005, 7:18 pm: ok:

2.I started at thirteen and quit at the age of 15.
3.Unless you are a chain smoker it shouldnt have a major impact on your voice.
4. Yes, due to the nicotine (is considered a "drug") you are addicted [ NinaB's advice column | Ask NinaB A Question ]
Helper14 answered Thursday November 3 2005, 12:30 pm: 1.Cigars are probably worse because they have more tobacco in them.
2.My friend was 7 when she started.
3.Well it could depending on how much you smoke.
4.You probably went crazy because you desperately wanted a cigar/cigarette.That doesn't really mean that you're addicted. If you want to stop then you could always buy a patch or some type of gum. [ Helper14's advice column | Ask Helper14 A Question ]
