Completion
My English teacher once told me, 'Don't marry someone you love, marry someone who completes you.'
Does anyone have any idea what that could mean, in a way? Like, how can someone complete you?

Your english teacher is saying that just because you love someone doesn't necessarily mean they love you. Marry somebody that you obviously both kinda like and take into account the money situation, your future goals, where you wanna live, children.... etc. Love is there, but it's not as near the top as people think.

Alot of people do not feel like a whole person.. If they are lonely they feel like a part of them is missing. And when you find someone you truely care about, you say that they complete you.

Some people feel like they are missing something inside them. When you love someone thats just love. When you find someone that completes the piece that is missing in your heart you know that yu have found your soul mate. I havent found that person yet but i hae found those tha i loved but it is not as good as having the piece comleted in my heart.

it means marry someone that makes you happy and you love also but dont marry someone that you love but they dont make you happy or satusfy you, but you can still love them

I'm not exactly sure. I guess you'll understand what it means when the time comes. My guess is that he means if you should marry the person you are completley happy with and completes your life and how you want it (Note the saying your "other half"), and not someone that leaves the feeling of something missing in the relationship.

i think he means that no one is a complete person untill they find their soulmate, so basically don't marry someone because you love them, marry someone beacause they make you a whole person

I think what your teacher means is your not a whole person until you meet the person you are meant to be with. So don't marry someone until you know you they make you a whole.

I disagree with craazylau. You can fall in love, but still be missing something. My ex is with a new girl now for almost a year. He claims hes in love, but he has NEVER cried for her like he did with me! So hes basically lacking the emotional support guys need! Every love is different. Each relationship you get in is different from the last. When some1 completes you, they make you feel whole, they make you feel good about yourself, that no matter what happens, you are on the top of the world, and nothing can knock you down. Youll know in your heart, if the 1 you fall madly in love with, completes you!!

You can't understand until you're in love with someone! Basically you feel complete when you're with them, like they're a part of you. So when you're apart from one another you feel like something about you is missing. Have you ever heard people referring to their partner as their other half? It's the same sort of thing. However i kinda disagree with your teacher- i think if you fall in love with someone, they complete you automatically, i don't think you can fall in love with someone without them completing you! ugh this is getting all lovey dovey now!!!! Hope that made sense.
