I have lots of stones I don't know what to do with

Question Posted Monday October 24 2005, 9:42 am

This may sound like a stupid question, but here goes...
When I was younger I used to collect semi-precious stones (like pink quartz, fools gold, turquoise etc.) and I have about 100 of them. But now they are just sitting in a drawer gathering dust and I don't want them anymore. I'm not sure if they would be worth anything, and if they were, where could I sell them? They are a nice collection.
Thanks, give me some advice if you have any ideas.

I have an idea. Buy a large board and glue them as best you can in any order or even random and then get that framed. So it will be a big white board with a lot of stones on it. That will look neat and original because you can't buy it anywhere else. Hope that helped.

You can sell anything on eBay. Try selling them there. The worth all depends on where you got them. Was it in a gift hop from a pl ace you visited? These would be worth more. Did you just see it a local store? These would be worth less. Price it like that.

you could get some cemment and add the stone in to make a stepping stone or arrange the stones to make a picture with the stons and glue the picture onto some card board or wood. You could make jewelry with some strings to attach to the stones. You could glue them onto ropes and drap them over your door. You could also throw them at windows {ha ha}.

I dont think you could make much money by selling stones and if im right you could give them to little children because they are amused by that kinda stuff.
Hope I help&hearts.

If there is a place in your town that sells hand-made jewelry, you might ask about selling them there.

You could also talk to the science teacher in your school and ask if they would be interested in your collection or if they know of someone that's interested in semi-precious stones.

As a last option, you could try selling them on ebay. I'm sure there's someone interested in your collection.
