My friend Chelsea is on Birth Control and she always has something wrong with her. such as bad headaches, cramps, and a few times shes had to switch medicine because of the side effects and go to the hospital. and she said something the other day like. I wish i never started these things. I have been thinking about getting on BC so that way i would know when my period is coming and such (im 15) but i was just wondering is birth control that bad with everyone? Because if so im scared to get on it.

This would be a good question for your doctor. Birth control doesn't affect everyone the same. My mother was never able to take it when she was younger, but I have been fine taking it. It's one of those things that you need to try in order to know.
But, really, before getting it (if you do decide to get it) your going to have to talk to your doctor anyway, so you should start now and ask her/him every question your can think of about anything that worries you about birth control. ]
You should not go the path of Chelsea and just not have sex. ]
No, it isn't that bad with everyone. I am on birth control for a medical reason and have been since I was younger, and nothing of that sort has ever happened to me. The only thing I could think of that happened was that I couldn't put my contacts in for a few weeks (which is a side effect of a few birth control pills). You don't know until you try, and if you don't like what happens you could always stop taking it. ]
It is not that bad with everyone, but some girls have a problem with it, just like some girls have a problem with Advil.
I'd advise against going on the pill to early. Taking it for three or more years can greatly increase your risk of cervical cancer.
I pulled up a good FAQ site about it that you might want to check out. Here ya go:

Bad side effects are not increadibly common or the pill would have never been FDA approved. ]
I can see how this scares you. You do not know everything about her illness and symptoms. They may be related to birth control and may not. You are both two exactly different people internally and genetically. If she is having that kind of trouble she needs a good doctor.
As for you fear not millions of people are on birth control and they aren't all suffering like your friend. Be well researched on the brands and side-effects though before trying anything. ]
Nope, bc doesn't do that to everyone. My cousin takes it and she's just fine. I think it depends on how sensitive your body is to certain things. As long as your friend isn't doing any drugs i really don't see how this could be happening. ]
Hey!
No, birth control is not bad for everyone. However, I would suggest you have all your regular health check ups first and make sure you're in good health to start. If you are in perfect health for it then make sure when you get it, you read the leaflet. This will let you know all the side-effects that you could expect and what to do if you get them. That way if you do get any, you'll know what to do.
Good luck xxx ]
