I was using my other phone line and I wanted to pretend I was calling someone. So i thought i dialed the same number as that line i did that about 4 times and hung up. I know it was stupid. The person called back I apologized and explained I dialed the wrong number. I am scared will they be able to find me?
jenymca answered Saturday October 8 2005, 9:42 pm: I dont think the person will care that much, I mean you apologized. People get crank calls all the time. I've called up people singing, joking, being weird, and nobody has ever tracked me down. And they wont be able to find you anyway so calm down, you didnt even do anything bad! If you apologized and they didnt seem too mad, you are probably safe. If there is a reason for you to really be worried you might want to tell someone about it.
tasuki answered Saturday October 8 2005, 9:47 am: No, you told them it was just a wrong number they probably don't care. They most likely just thought it was their friend or they were curious who it was so they used *69. It's not illegal to make the wrong number, and if they didn't say "I don't believe you you stupid prank caller I'm taking you to court!" then you should be fine. The person isn't going to try to find you because you dialed their number and hung up multiple times. You have nothing to worry about, but I wouldn't reccomend doing that again. It's annoying. X0C0URT answered Friday October 7 2005, 5:18 pm: I'm sure they aren't going to try and track you down. It's not that big of a deal. If someone does call and question you about it, just tell them it was an accident and apologize profusely. :-)
twistedsister17 answered Friday October 7 2005, 5:01 pm: They could if they went to the police but it was no big deal and since you talked to them and said you were sorry, they know that you just made a mistake. They would have to be crazy to go to the police for something that small. Don't worry about it, you apologized and promised not to do it again. I called a random person at two o clock in the morning once and they called back but nothing happened, even though I was worried for a week that they would track them down. You made an honest mistake and you admitted to it, so don't worry about it. The person who got called has moved on, and so should you.
sbloemeke answered Friday October 7 2005, 3:47 pm: Possibly. The person may have caller ID, which would possibly identify you. It depends if you gave it out or not. But, since they have your number, they can use that to trace you if they really wanted. [ sbloemeke's advice column | Ask sbloemeke A Question ]
sillyrob answered Friday October 7 2005, 3:09 pm: I'm so confused, so you called the same number as the line you were on, and got someone else? I think you were just prank calling and lying about it. No they wont be able to find you, don't worry about it. [ sillyrob's advice column | Ask sillyrob A Question ]
twizzler2 answered Friday October 7 2005, 2:58 pm: You shouldn't really worry about it, a lot of people have mistakes and "call the wrong number" it's not like you were intentionally were trying to bother someone you didnt know. I have done it before and unless the people are insane monsters they probably already forgot about it!! And you said you apologized and it explained it, if they have caller ID then they have your number(obviously because they called you back) but honestly don't worry about it. It was an accident! hope i helped...
