Will braces go off on metal detectors? What colors should I get? I'm getting them tommorow! (13/F Kind Of Preppy)

No, they will not. Secondly, I am not sure colors are a great idea at all. Think about it, do you really want people seeing neon pink, orange, yellow, red or blue when you open your mouth or smile? I would just get the standard braces because everything else is going to stand out and the goal these days are to make it so it does not.
Rich people who can afford it are going for the new clear braces you can hardly see. Go for something as close to looking natural as possible. You might regret it later and go "Oh man, everyone can see this awful blue." Make sure you see photos with people who chose that color because it will be highly noticeable.

Nope the braces dont go off, i know this because my sister has braces and has been waltzing through metal detectors since my family travels a lot.
As for colors, you have several choices. You can do 1) your favorite color [that's what i do] 2) school colors [to show your school spirit! woohoo!] or 3) choose a color that can go with any color [aka match any outfit you wear basically]
And a little advice about braces, they will definitely hurt...duh, lol [i just got mines a few months ago] but when you get them all, it'd be worth it... at least that's what i'm telling myself! xP

BAHAHAHAHA! That's hilarious if braces actually went off in metal detectors, but no, they don't. They aren't really metal.

No, braces will not go off on metal detectors (although it may seem like it should)...Hmm, for a preppy female person, I would consider getting your braces in a pink color.

I always wondered if my braces (when I had them) would go off in metal detectors, too but they don't. When I went on a school trip to Ottawa, we had to go through metal detectors and they didn't go off. So you're safe. The colors, any color(s) really, besides yellow and white. White get dirty way too fast and yellow makes all your teeth look yellow. Cute colors like, blue, green, red, and pink would look nice.

Well, they don't go off in metal detectors. The only reason I know that is because I go to practically all the football games, and because they're high school games, there are metal detectors, and my braces have never gone off.
DON'T GET YELLOW!! Haha, thats about the best I can do. My braces don't have rubberbands, so I can't get colored ones, but yellow is horrid on braces because it makes your teeth look yellow. Blues usually look pretty good on braces. So do purple and pinks!!
