Also, chew gum. You won't be able to eat food if you have gum in your mouth...
Try to get your family involved in your situation! Make sure that they know you are trying to cut-back on eating, and when they see you reaching for those cookies in the back of the cupboard to stop you!

Mackenzie answered Monday October 3 2005, 12:06 am: You just have to have strong willpower. Also, setting a goal is a terrific idea. It's best to remember to keep them realistic, this way you'll be more likely to accomplish them, and set more. Sleeping often will pass the hours. Also, really dedicate yourself to your schooling - that can kill two birds with one stone.
I assume you're asking this as an effort to shed a few pounds, correct? Well, if so.. the important thing to remember is to simply eat sensibly.
Providing you cut out the EXTREMELY unhealthy foods, such as WHITE bread [substitute it with wheat], cake products, ice cream, hamburgers, and soda... [if you're used to consuming A LOT of it] you can see a MAJOR weight loss difference within the first two weeks, ALONE.
You might already know that it's best to eat SEVERAL SMALL portions a day. Say, have an apple and a piece of cheese, two hours later have a few crakers, and an hour lateR have one piece of wheat toast, and so on and so forth, ya know? Little intakes of food like that givs your body time to digest everything properly. You see how that's better than eating one or two huge meals a day... because it takes too long to catch up, and it can not burn the calories quick enough, and then just quits, adding body fat.
But of course weight loss takes time.... you just have to stay committed, and be able to maintain the required dedication to keep it up.. [:
