Help God says that he refuses to prove himself, because that would deny faith, and without faith he is nothing, so if someone were to find proof, then by gods own reasoning he couldnt exist-is this plausible

I agree Disgruntled_Michael completely. And also, if God refuses to show himself, and is unendingly powerful, then he han easily hide all trances of his existance so we could never find evidence. ]
That wasn't His point at all.
First, the Bible was written by man. We don't even know if God really said that, or if it is some man's interpertation.
Second, back in the time where the Bible was written, the thought of finding proof wasn't even in the human brain.
Third, it also says in the Bible that God exists no matter what. He has always been there, and always will be there. ]
yes, i think that IS true, all though.
if God says this, which i believe He did, He wouldnt let any man find evidence would He?
Nadia. ]
Properly interpreted (and not taken out of context) What God is saying is that he will no longer speak to individuals as he did in the Old Testament. He expects us, and rightly so, to look around us and see the evidence of his existence. One of the people who responded to your question used the human eye as an example. That's a very good one, but only one of the many thousands around us.
Think of the laws of physics. Why do they work the same EVERY TIME? Why is an atom with one proton, one neutron and one electron always helium? Simpler still, why does an acorn always grow to be an oak tree and not an apple tree? This is because this is a designed universe we live in.
God has given us ample evidence of his existence and proof that he is there. It's up to us to interpret it properly. ]
Yes, it is. But don't expect to go down in history for coming up with it--it's from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by the late Douglas Adams. ]
it is so that he cannot be put into smaller terms for man to comprehend ]
Well, I don't think it's like that. If there was proof that God existed, then everyone would 100% believe in Him. And if everyone believed He was watching, they might not show their true natures.
Kind of like when you think the boss is looking at work, or the teacher at school, you act better than you would if you thought they weren't watching.
Life is like a combination boot camp and test. We're being tested to see how we behave when we're unsupervised, and also to see if we will have faith and believe on our own. If God proved himself by walking around down here or something, that obviously would mess up the whole test.
Edited to add: If you could point me to the scripture you are referring to, I might be able to see in what context it was written. I tried looking it up on [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) but didn't have any luck. ]
Have you read the bible? I mean really read the bible as a whole and not just one verse out of context? Have you looked out the window today? Where do you think everything came from? Look in the mirror at your eyeball. Do you really believe that evolved from something other than God Almighty? There is proof everywhere of the existence of God; it's just that some people refuse to believe it. They try to reason it away. Then there are the ones who step out in FAITH and accept the fact that God is Holy and Sovereign, and humans are sinful and need Jesus. Which group do you think God is going to reveal more of Himself too? ]
the answer is yes when you put it like that. But he couldn't leave faith to make ppl know he exists because he cant make ppl love him. And if he did he woulnt exist, but he does. ]
I think that people try to read too much into that idea.
It's rather silly, really.
If you refused to prove that you existed because if you did prove you existed it would destroy someone's faith in the fact that you existed, and without that person's faith in you, would you cease to exist?
See how silly that is?
It's circular reasoning, and reasoning applied to what a person wants to believe. ]
